For anyone interested in pursuing art I highly recommend the Andrew Loomis books, aswell as books by Marcos Mateu like Framed Ink and Framed Perspective. I've read many books on art and these are very useful for artists on all levels
and most importantly: watch proko
For anyone studying please, draw and practice with references from real live models, there is plenty online. I know its not super fun but trust me you dont want to pick up other artists mistakes (we all make them) and its alot easier to learn from. Gotta learn the source material. Whether its people, cars. cities etc.
Who knew these things we took for granted as a kid that were not very interesting to us then, we absolutely love and relax us now?!

I don't know I keep drawing regardless. My reason for drawing changed but I still draw because I get requests. I don't draw for myself because my art skills usually plummet when I do. However when I draw for someone else it's pretty good.

Something I've lost while drawing is the fun of it, now I sit around studying perspective and proportions, so it's kind of an awakening of sorts to see someone draw and have fun, regardless of the product, it's a skill you need to practice a lot more than the other eye.
I study art at college and have to complete plenty of complicated assignments that really push my artistic expression and skills. Sometimes it's nice to sit and do silly little doodles exactly like this, just whatever comes to mind. Drawing some hills with a sun in the top corner and simple little blobby trees is so therapeutic and a lovely way to escape
My partner draws every day. They're very talented as an artist. They mostly do digital art and they actually use this same program. Maybe sometime I should ask them if I can use it to draw stuff like this to relax

Literally just watching this as I'm working on a drawing for class in the morning. I've always found drawing to be theraputic and it's actually one of the first ASMR triggers i ever found. Just nice to relax and make something come to life :)

yesss paul get yourself some copic or equivalent markers and make a random drawing video with those, they are extremely satisfying to use and it would be fun to see you draw how you feel no subject required. your attitude completely changed once you started drawing the skull, you seem very interested in what you were doing i can tell you have some passion for drawing. you must have the same demons as i, because that skull came natural to you

As an artist, this is the purest and most righteous form of drawing. It will not produce a beautiful result but it is an unadulterated and unrestrained act of creation. It is what every artist wishes they could be doing, without the stress of their own standards and skills.

My drawing scale is a 6 or 7 and I use medium pressure or very small pressure and sometimes color it and I usually draw ships and add small details to it
The closer you get to the end of the video it becomes more Meat Canyon like which is really cool!
