How do you tune the lowest note ? Does it only depend of the chamber size?

What type of clay did you use?
This may just be something wrong with my method, but how do your ocarinas look so clean and polished through the hole making process? There isnt a crumb of clay misplaced! What type of clay do you use?

It is damp clay that explodes a piece.
