- Odell Beckham Jr.'s Hollywood debut ended up being a box office dud last night. The wide receiver only had 18 yards on two catches for the LA Rams. The only other time he was targeted resulted in an interception on the Rams' opening drive. LA's offense never clicked, and the San Francisco 49ers took advantage, steamrolling to a 31-10 win. Thing is, Niners finally played physical and that explains the drops. Niners took the Rams out of their gameplan of taking their time and working OBJ into the offense. OBJ isnt the fault of the playcalling or defense. He is just a Receiver and had his moments when he was given the chance.

Obj played like 12 snaps and was targeted at most four times, with one being thrown way over his head, and they still talking about him instead of how bad Mathew played or Cooper, who dropped an easy first down pass which is fine. It happens, but obj did that with the brown's once early in the season and skip killed him for it😂 let him get some more practice and reps with the team before we talk about his performance

You can know all the routes in the world but it means nothing if you aren’t on the same page as the QB. He was in LA for 3 days and was being told the route at the line of scrimmage they basically told him to freestyle. Skip saying he is already causing problems just because after 3 days of being on a team he is on the sideline working with coaches on what he does with certain routes is just being a hater.

If OBJ keeps running his route on that deep INT, maybe he can at least make it harder for Ward to pick that and it's just 3rd and 8 but nothing Odell did or didn't do made a difference in that game. The 49er's 1st possession after that interception, they had it for 11 minutes. The Rams defense couldn't stop Kyle's offense. I guess they're not built for it because it's been like that for a couple of years now

As I have noted before, OBJ needs to practice routes with his QB. Running your own route is not going work, unless you have a QB that can anticipate the route. However, practice is better than anticipation.
Well then that means these qbs these days shouldn't get all the praise if they can't improvise also..

You practice different routes and as much as possible, then game time comes, what seemed like improvisation was actually practiced.
Knowing or not knowing the system. How hard is it to just get open? Just keep it simple in the huddle; I'm going deep, short, fake it to the left, fake it to the right. Don't have to know a system to do that.

Skip is an interesting character bringing up cooper like that. Because skip does actually know, not all offenses are the same. And in the offense that his best coach of all time is famous for making, the receiver actually does do a lot of reading the defense and ad libing. So what he said isn’t necessarily true. In stefanski’s offense, sometimes you just run the route, sometimes you read it. Baker is trash in that reading it game. And the issues, the “lack of chemistry” that ppl talk about is on those routes. The straight drop, west coast stuff.
Don't leave out how important the defense is! The defense played a huge part in that victory..

And not to mention one of those two touchdowns was on a 4th and 5 and it took a lot of balls for Kyle Shanahan the call that play in that situation because at the time we're already up 24-7 and of course if we don't convert the fourth-down not only that the turnover-on-downs but that's a possible momentum shift for the Rams but the way Jimmy threw that pass to Deebo was money and that was a play that officially knocked the Rams out in the game
