I really like this method. Never saw it before until yesterday at an artwalk. There was an artist who did this and it was beautiful. Can I ask what types of paints you can use and can you use oil pastels?

May I ask why you use the wax before painting? Is it preserving your charcoal or is there another reason for it.
Also* are you using oil paints here?
    Thank you

Mary M hi! Thanks for the questions and very sorry for such a late reply... I paint with the wax to create layers and to protect. No I’m using encaustic paint, but you could also use oil sticks or paint.
