Those are some boss-ass snake minis. Beautiful.
Also, the idea of a boss description that tells you what it does on each turn is brilliant, and I wish official 5e material did it more. One of the things that hold boss encounters in normal 5e back is how you, as DM, kind of need to intuit what a boss wants to do from moment to moment. The Monsters Know What They're Doing is a blog built almost entirely around analyzing monster stats to decipher their priorities and tactics. Having an idea of what a boss does from turn to turn, or when it prefers to use its Legendary Resistance, or who it focuses fire on, would be appreciated.

The epic encounter box sets look great. I don't have or paint mini's and I'm worried that it could be the start of a very expensive hobby😅
I started recently and it’s not too bad. The paint and brushes are your biggest up front cost, but from there I’ve largely just spent around $5 a week to get a large mini or smaller minis which I think will serve as memorable pieces for the players. You do eventually have to worry about storage, and if you go for the prepainted sets, which run around $20, you can get a bit crazy if you buy those every week. Just buy at a rate you can comfortably paint and I think you’ll see it’s a manageable hobby.
@@noahholderman5725 time is also a big worry. I DM two games and play in a third. I also do stuff that isn't d&d related. Still I could do it while doing something else like planning sessions or while my wife does one of her hobbies
@@benry007 It is a bit time consuming, but I also find it’s a good way to relax. I see no reason you can’t start small and buy only what you have time to paint or a set, small amount each week and present unpainted minis to your group if you haven’t had the time.
100 dollar paint set from warpaint is a good starter set it has everything you need color wise
I recently had a birthday and started DM-Ing, so I don't really have any minis. So when My bday arrived I was greeted by the orc, kobold and the frost giant box set. I just thought they were crazy! But these minis are so incredible that I even started researching about painting them.
Gonna have to snag these. I love my little kobolds and these look like the same high quality!
What Hero figures would go with these enemy figures?
I have both boxes of the other 3 sets. The minis are pretty damned good and very detailed. Lots to paint on the orc box that I'm almost done with. Gotta finish the Frost Giant after them so I can run those two encounters on my table. So glad they're not kicking back on the 3 other sets. They're very damned good and the adventure book that comes with them is kick ass too! Excited for this set.
I've been wanting to get into minis. These looks great and going to the top of my list.
Is this a limited time item? Not familiar with this product line but definitely want this box.

How did it go?
@@madgoat9603 EPIC! The players were very happy and excited to assault the ziggurat I had my crafted. Everyone got poisoned at some point, enemies were struck down, players were KO'd, and in the end, the only one left standing was a tanky fighter with 26 HP. They were level 11 characters for the record.

If I had to guess it’s because the maps are too busy and detract from the product. I’ve bought a every epic encounters but these and the maps are kind of annoying.
