I was reminded recently of the old saying about knowing where you are going, but living in the present! You can't change the past, so why worry about it. You can plan for the future but it hasn't arrived yet and things could change, so no use worrying about that either. Live in the present and remember to celebrate your successes! You lovelies make an awesome team and seem to take on life with a fantastic attitude, it's really nice to watch!

When I first saw the red I thought to myself you would switch to another color but I’m so glad you didn’t. It looks crisp and tidy with a bit of a retro feel. I think it’s fun and job well done. Kudos!!
You 2 remind me of my wife and me 40yrs ago we had no money but love for each other we bought a $500 dollar trailer on credit and worked together on it fell more in love had 3 children and raised them there sent them to school from there sent them to private college from there .We bought. 100 acres of land with the money saved from no mortgage was going to build a house on the land but we couldn't part with our trailer (still in trailer park) so we moved it to the 100 acres and continue to enjoy it and still love each other there and enjoy the children and grands . I will be buried on that land and so will my family. Sorry about rambling on but you just remind me of us 40 yrs ago just a few words of advice just love, live, be blind to others and enjoy the life you build and don't sorry what other people say, p.s. you can save a lot of money living this way! P.S. You'll have to let us know if the new windows and door make a difference with the level of outside sounds passing thru to the inside of your home. I know the sound of the road traffic would be a problem for me as it is for Ashley. I sure hope it does since that would make life more pleasant for your family and the family that buys it when you find your new forever home.
Looks very nice. I too once lived in a very old mobile home that I fixed up and sold for a profit after living in it for two years.
Great job guys it’s actually really nice to see a young couple work together and can communicate with each other to take on a project and see it through. Staying positive through the good and bad times on a project like this is and should be and inspiration to all young couples

I'm glad you all saved this place and did a makeover on it so many mobile homes of this age sadly are to far gone to be fixed or people just tear them down.

This is amazing! I just bought a vintage frontier mobile home, im 18 years old and ive been looking for inspiration and ideas for what i could do with it. I absolutely love the vintage look, i just want a fresh color on the outside. Right now its beige with a teal stripe on the bottom.. thinking the white would look a lot better

Oh..my heart just broke for you guys seeing the red run down. But, as you said, you are going to do what it takes to make it perfect. The light looks cool. I love seeing couples work together and where the man is willing to put some elbow grease into his home for his family. Anything you don't know how to do CZcams can show you. Be sure you caulk around all those windows for water and air. It looks awesome ...clean and crisp as you said. Your wife is so proud of her husband. Love the red...you have my vote. Enjoyed seeing you guys working as a team.
One other thing..trim that hair you have growing on that sweet face of yours...you are too good looking for that mess...lolol that's from a mothers perspective.

This just proves there are so many properties with so much potential out there. Most buyers overlook them and take on high amounts of debt. I would live there. Love the shade the porch provides. Love the concrete patio. Love the colors.
Growing up through the 70's and into the early 80's I lived in a mobile home. My parents bought a new Holly Park in 1977. Tho our new HP was different our neighbor had a home that was white with the red stripe like you now have. The fake shutters on that home were black. And the light fixtures on the front were white globes. Just fyi... you're doing a great job bringing that old home back to life. Thanks for putting it all up on CZcams for us. RG

What a treasure you have there! This looks to be a 1973-ish Holly Park! For that vintage, they are some of the most well built mobile homes! Even before HUD took over the manufactured home business in 1976. This home is no exception! The siding is straight, with no ripples or bulges. I really like the white with red trim, as it stays true to the vintage of the home. The new windows really add class! Better than trying to fix the old ones!! You are so lucky to have a mobile home expert in your area!
I am really happy to see a young couple making a wonderful home! Mobile homes seem to get a bad reputation.. which is silly! They are affordable, and usually pretty nice on the inside. I was a mobile home dweller for over 35 years! Good luck to you two! Keep up the great work! Looking forward to more updates!

Doug and Ashley, The trailer looks awesome I agree with you about moving the red stripe to the level of the windows, now it’s time to get rid of those big overgrown bushes, they distract from the looks of your trailer.
Clean up the flowerbed and then maybe plant some flowers or lower growing subs .
I agree! The exterior looks great now. The overgrown bushes are blocking the beautiful exterior; cut 'em down. Great Job Doug and Ashley!
But we love the birds and the birds love the bushes. They are always right outside our window :)
They are on the west side I think, where the sun beats the longest in the Summer and though they don't cover all the height of it, they do shade enough, that with them gone, that place would bake. Any bit of shade does make a big difference.
This looks very nice and updated. My thought is you should now cut down the middle bushes in the background as they block the niceness of the trailer. I would leave one bush at each end of the trailer as "anchors" but take out the middle three.
This goes to show what PAINT alone can do!! Also determination, hard (team)work and a small budget can do!! ANY home, ANY size can look gorgeous if you've got a plan. Kudos to you two!

When restoring or remodeling a mobile home, I have always upgraded the windows. They're more energy efficient and user-friendly that way.
First time watching your vids. I like the red, it celebrates what it is! vintage stuff is cool and you are never going to turn it into something it isn't. Good luck now that the outside is weather tight it relieves some urgency.

I love it! It turned out great. I like how the back of the mobile home is lined with the trees as well I think that looks very nice. I think it would be great if you line the front of the house with red rose bushes. They have thornless roses since you have a child. But then again I have pink rose bushes in front of my light blue mobile home. So I'm partial to roses. I think your house turned out absolutely fantastic.

My parents had the same mobile home as you guys, theirs was a 1966 Norris and it was one of the beast built mobile homes money could buy in those days. The mobile home is still sitting and still as stout as it was 30 years ago. Love the red, great job.

Your colors are perfect together and really give that "Vintage Feel"! You two have the greatest attitude and work ethic! When our neighbor redid a mobile home at a vacation site, they also said putting a moisture barrier and insulating under the trailer made a great difference, too. Can't wait to see your next project.

Years ago I had one almost like that. 1979 Windsor Model. Best made mobile home made at that time and for years after. Enjoy your new home. Don't forget to seal your roof also, they wear thru after so many years. It looks GREAT.
