    Ive been crying and thinking of this man and his daughter nonstop for the past 3 days and I honesly couldnt tell you why until now. I was born into and grew up in a Lakers fan household so there wasnt a time during the season(s) that I wouldnt hear Kobes name throughout my house and I cant tell you how many times my dad yelled, cheered and had tears of joy at the tv because of the Kobe Bryant. I remember witnessing Kobe drop 81, tear his achillies and manage to walk to the ft line to hit 2 clutch fts, I remember him coming back from deficits to beat teams especially those ones againts the Raptors back in 2013 and I of course remember the championship runs and games he played in to get there. But beyond that the things I'll remember him for the most was what he did off the court after basketball like constantly working to help future and current nba talent get better, spending time with his family, trying to expand his brand and more recently training and prepping his daughter Gigi to be a future WNBA Superstar(Which from the outside looking in she looked like she was heading in the right direction). So why am I crying? Its because like most other LA natives I didnt look at Kobe as some stranger I looked at him as apart of my family and thats what hurts most of all man.
    Rip Kobe, Gianna, John Altobelli, Keri Altobell, Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser and Ara Zobayan.

    Nash was my inspiration, being a Canadian kid playing basketball growing up. But Kobe was always my motivation. Every time I was on the court practicing and shooting around it was always against Kobe in my head. Ya know? Like, I always envisioned myself going to battle against the best player in the game. The way he conducted himself, the way he battled, his tireless work ethic. I tried to bring that to my game every time I played. Obviously I did not become the NBA star I imagined, but he made me a better person. Whenever I do something, I put my all into. Just like Kobe did with everything he did.

Clutch shots by both teams. Bad blood between Kobe and Raja. Phil Jackson vs a young Mike Dantoni. The rivalry between Phoenix and LA before that had always been good, this series took it to another level that you love to see rivalry's go to. Its when the sport is at its best. Are you sure you grew up a Suns fan? Suns are 2-2 in 4 playoff series against the Lakers with Kobe on the team... neither of which Lakers series wins were with Kobe in his pinnacle... Suns dominated the Lakers with a “prime” Kobe in regular season and postseason play... yes NBA lost a legend, but you don’t have to exaggerate the narrative

    • @UtotheJ
      @UtotheJ Před 4 lety

      Kunga Sagar 1. So basically, he DID NOT have success against the Suns until 2010? 2. He beat a Suns team that was far past its prime in 2010, still took 6 games and a lucky airball. 3. When he had help, he was also swept out of the playoffs by a Dallas team... Kobe is severely overrated, he’s a top 8-12 player of all time, but he should never be mentioned in the GOAT conversation.

    • @KungaMatata
      @KungaMatata Před 4 lety

      UtotheJ That 2010 Suns team was nasty and they were about the same age as the Lakers so if you’re gonna say they were out of their prime so were the Lakers. Funny how you mention the airball but not the series clinching shot in game 6. He also average a near triple double since stat nerds love to hear that. In 2011 the lakers were coming off three straight finals and Kobe and Gasol weren’t healthy. The mavs ended up beating KD and LeBron later. Those are just the facts.

    #ThankyouKobe I have followed your career from the start until the end. You are the reason why I started collecting Basketball Memorabilia. Living in LA made it even more sweeter to be a Lakers Fan. #GoLakers
    #purpleandgold.I kept playing all the good moments all the highlights made plays, just flash backs of good times. As we all love a good drama stories, us guys, we love to watch drama as well. We just wanted to watch #unscripted drama and that what Basketball gives us. It gives us the thrill, excitement and something to root for. The first time I met Kobe in Person was his Rookie Year. We played in a Tounament CCBA and I am a member of a team called Sipa( search to involve Pilipino Association). Since we won the championship, one of the awards was to meet Kobe and and we did. We interviewed him and ask all those questions. One od the question was, " Do you think you coukd beat Van Exel One on one, his Replied was, " Easy I could Beat him with one hand". Right there and there I could already see and feel his #greatness his #MambaMentality that he is so confident that he could take anyone in the NBA and beat them one on one, this is the time when the lakers wasn't really playing him and we only get some glimpses of how good he really is. At a young age of 18 he was already got that Mamba Mentality to be great at Anything he puts his mind into.I think that was really inspiring and from that point I became A huge Kobe Bryant Follower. Another most memorable moments are the moments I have treasured with my Son #Joshua. I could see the big influence of my Love to Kobe in Him. He loves basketball the way I have loved the game. Kobe is one of his heroes growing up and trying to emulate moves after moves at our backyard. The game was even more fun to watch and more even Inspiring to play, For So many times, we both have dreamed that we were Kobe on Court. That Ultimate Competitor in Him, his ultimate dedication of the game that I have love the most. I salute you brother. It is such a tragic death, gone too soon. I was hoping to and looking forward for his hall of fame speech. I even told my Son that we will attend it. I was looking Forward for his Statue outside Staples Center.We even made a CZcams Channel last 2010 and it is called #ThePinoyMamba after you since you are #TheBlackMamba since I was born in Philippines and I am a Filipino and my Son have Filipino Blood, it is just fitting that we cool be called #ThePinoyMamba after you Mr. MAMBA. My Son and I Enjoyed collecting and they are forever captured in CZcams. Those are my treasured moments. Spending quality Father and son, like you with your kids. One thing I learned from this. Life is not Promised. We should move forward and enjoy every bit of seconds of it. We Can't take it for granted. We should say I love more often. Nothing is guaranteed. We could only hope and Pray. #Godbless I will miss you My Forever Idol. Thank you for making me smile and cry at the same time. #Mambaout
