    My father (in the Home Guard) stood guard aged all of 18 or 19 amongst the one-armed bandits - he told his family later that, after dark, he could swear the things started to move! Remember the young man was actually armed - said that on one occasion he nearly shot one of these machines! (Later on, similarly armed, as an undergraduate he stood guard under the desk at Cambridge main post office to foil Nazi paratroops!)

    It's a tragedy that this Pier has been left to rot! Shame on the Council.

    I am certain that If and this Pier was refurbished to It's original specifications (and was able to accept tour boats) It would be a commercial success..
