    You have great taste in aircraft! I'm looking for a Trinidad GT but after watching your vids i really might step into the Bonanza instead. Thanks for these!

    Hello Bart
    I understand this is an older video and you may know this, but here it is anyways. Per Bob Ripley and the American Bonanza Society, the ailerons may or may not line up with the wing tip. The flaps are supposed to line up with the bottom of the fuselage and the ailerons line up with the flaps. I have seen sometimes where the ailerons don’t line up with the wing tip, it looks bad but it’s totally normal. I’m also a proud owner of an A36. Love your videos please keep them coming.

      @BonanzaBart  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you for the comment and you are absolutely right. I also heard that sometimes the slave (co-pilot side) flap may not exactly line up with same area of fuselage as the pilot side does and that is fine too. This would be due to variations in assembly of the fuselage.

      Yes. I’m impressed by your knowledge and I learn everyday something new too.When are you going to put out another video of updates/annuals/ problems etc. Those videos are always interesting to me.

    Just saw this vid and Thanks, as far as the engine harness being rerouted the person that did that did an excellent job, leave it alone its not hurting anything ( 2 years old now), air gets shoved down not sideways

    • @BonanzaBart
      @BonanzaBart  Před 5 lety

      I had that rerouted nonetheless and, combined with some other small tweaks including #2 and #6 GAMI baffle kit made my CHT temps cool and uniform across all cylinders now.

    nice video, your plan is super clean, I'm new to flying and looking at buying a Mooney and if the engine is dirty, I'm sorry I not going to buy it.

    Thanks so much. Another thing you all can see is if the main gear tires are aligned properly. On our Piper Lance, we used washers for spacing to get them aligned. You can also gently grab the end of the wing and move it up and down. Believe it, that one time we found a loose B55 Baron wing. Are you tired of you A36? You've had it over six years. Are you ready to sell it? I'm looking for a partner in Naples, Florida. Thx

    • @BonanzaBart
      @BonanzaBart  Před 2 lety

      Yes, ABS recommends that torque check on the wing bolts is performed (one needs special tools to do this). Not tired at all of my A36 and it has been exceedingly reliable over the years. Thank you for commenting.

    Hi good video, but I notice on your Alt. the safety wire was pretty bad. If not already done I would have it redone. I am a A&P and that look bad. Top was not even tight or goes to the bolt that will fail. I know nit picking but engine is pretty important.
    if it has been redone

    • @BonanzaBart
      @BonanzaBart  Před 7 lety

      Thank you. Yes, I see what you mean and I will definitely have this checked. Good eye!

    • @yogib37
      @yogib37 Před 7 lety +1

      it is not a biggie but the twisted part needs to be right up to the bolt. If I was close to you I would do it for you for free. :) It would be legall for me to do it since I have a A & P. I mean I am not claiming I am the best safety wire mechanic but I know I could do better then that :)

    I hope you don't mind me bringing this to your attention, but the battery cable looks like it may chafe on the battery box. The cable needs some heavy duty insulation between it and the box.

    • @BonanzaBart
      @BonanzaBart  Před 8 lety

      Gary W. Stegall Thank you. I have the rubber grommets around the cables when they exit the box, should there be something else? There is definitely no chafing.

    • @brandonb417
      @brandonb417 Před 7 lety

      I think I see what he's talking about. If its the same thing, its the white wire that's close to the bottom forward edge of the battery box. If the wires aren't stiff enough, they may vibrate back or get blown back, from cooling air, and rub on the bottom front edge of the battery box.
      I'm not an A&P so I don't know what's legal, but I would think some edge protection on the battery box would do it. Unless the wires are stiff and the whole thing is a non-issue.

    • @1stinsonguy
      @1stinsonguy Před 7 lety

      Flight of Passage, glad there's no chafing problem. Thanks for answering!

    Bart, Great videos I really appreciate them. I have one question about your cow flaps in the springs you used to secure them so they don’t vibrate. Where did you get those springs?

    • @BonanzaBart
      @BonanzaBart  Před 4 lety

      These are same P/N as springs used on the Bonanza exhaust system clamps. The Beech P/N: 186-218. It is called "tension spring."

    Enjoyed your video. You mentioned when talking about using Phillips oil, that it is a "mineral oil". Using Phillips XC oil is a good idea, but not literal MINERAL OIL. That product is for breaking in new or overhauled cylinders and will hurt your engine if you continue to use it after the initial break in process. I'm hoping you just misunderstood something and haven't done anything that could hurt your beautiful Bonanza.

    • @robertgentry9436
      @robertgentry9436 Před 6 lety

      So...use Phillips XC but not the MINERAL version.

    • @BonanzaBart
      @BonanzaBart  Před 6 lety +2

      No I did not misunderstand anything. Phillips XC is an Ashless Dispersant mineral oil. You are thinking about a break-in oil which is also mineral but does not have the AD in it. Mineral oil means the oil is a distilled from petroleum vs synthetic oils which as the name suggests are synthesized. Because synthetic oils are more “slippery” they are not good for break-in. So I believe my understanding is correct.

    • @robertgentry9436
      @robertgentry9436 Před 6 lety

      Good, that's technically correct. The word mineral just raised a red flag. Commonly, when oils are mentioned among aircraft owners and mechanics, the word "mineral" usually refers to the break in oil with no semi-synthetic additives.
      Happy, Safe Flying. .

    What do you use to wax your bonanza ?

    • @BonanzaBart

      I use Meguiar's Gold Class wax. I also use Harbor Freight orbital polisher which makes the job a lot faster.
