    It'll need phase detect AF on sensor for better video AF - that was the one drawback on the D750. If it doesn't I'll give it a miss. They've got no chance of selling them at £2000 - I could probably get the new upcoming A74 for that - no competition.

      Hi Mark, it will be interesting to see what the full specs are, I think this could be how new cameras are for a while, new name and no massive upgrades. Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.

    Will the price for D750 drop even more? It’s $1200 now but I’m not sure if D750 will drop even further after the D780 released

    • @ThePhotoShow
      @ThePhotoShow  Před 4 lety

      Hi Jill, I do think that a month or so after the D780 is released the price will drop again, even just to move old stock. You may be able to pick up a new D750 for under $1000! Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.

    For me personally I do not think I’d buy this, my current D750 is still a very good camera. My wife has a Z6 which is a fabulous hybrid camera and I would buy that over a D780 . If I was going to buy another DSLR and based on the rumoured spec of the D780 I’d opt for a D850 but hey that’s just my thoughts and it’s what would work for me.

    To be honest, I can see Nikon and Canon both announcing the end of production of DSLR cameras by the end of this year, due to their heavy investment in mirrorless.

    • @ThePhotoShow
      @ThePhotoShow  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Bob, I know what you mean but with so much investment in both Nikon and Canon lens I think they will continue with DSLR's for a while, possibly like this one with no major upgrades. All the best, Dave.

    • @michaels8597
      @michaels8597 Před 4 lety +1

      huh???????If that's the case,why are like 3 companies still making DSLRs????Mirrorless is NOT new,and still,like 10 years later,DSLRs are used by REAL professionals,everyday,all over the world.Nikon KILLED it selling the D850,and bth the Z6/7 together didnt even come close.Nikon is investing in getting mirrorless glass out there,so when a replacement for the Z series comes out,they will already have enough glass to cover most focal lengths.Canon and Pentax are also making DSLRs.I hope this D780 has no recall issues ,because that's all that really jacked up the D750,since it's a great camera otherwise.

    • @ThePhotoShow
      @ThePhotoShow  Před 4 lety

      Hi Michael, I'm not sure which point you are talking about? I have no doubt that DSLRs will continue, I use them in my professional work. I agree the D850 is probably the best camera ever made. The mirrorless market will continue to grow especially as they are cheaper to produce. Thank you for watching, have fun, Dave.

      ...........well,i am not sure because i do not work at the factory,if mirrorless is cheaper to produce.I know I have the SonyA580,and at $700,it was considered a DSLR,even though technically,its a mirrorless/DSLR hybrid.I know those Panasonic Mirrorless S Series are not cheaper,and are in fact a way more expensive system.
      Then again,when I invest in something and I am serious,i dont really pinch pennies.I map out a maximum budget and work from there.Oh yeah,and I was responding to that other person's inaccurate,mythological comment.How can something be on the way out when they still make them?That's exactly what they said about large SUVs years ago.

      @@ThePhotoShow Most of Nikon's customer's have been with Nikon for ages, and are wanting new F-mount bodies. So, if Nikon comes out with only minor changes to their older camera bodies, they will not be impressed. Anybody new to cameras would not likely chose Nikon as a first choice in 2020. They would go mirrorless, and likely chose Sony. Nikon has to look what their loyal customer base wants.

    Get the facts straight on DSLR IBIS. Sony had it in their DSLRs long before mirrorless (in fact the last Knica/Minolta models the 7D and 5D had it which is what Sony inherited when they purchased the camera division). Pentax has has IBIS in their DSLRs since the K10D more than 10 years ago. Please, do not degrade your video content by not researching things first. I can supply references to these easily verifiable facts.
