    Don't know if maybe it changed, but I'm using Maya 2024, and it doesn't let me nest the layers like that. The only way I got it to work was by creating groups for the different parts and parenting them in the outliner. Then I can assign a parent or child group to different layers, and it works as shown here. The way layers work in Maya is bothersome when trying to create a rig, because it depends on object parenting.

      2024 came with some bugs. Just make sure you have the latest version. They fixed a lot of my issues. If you still have problems comes to the Discord and we can take a look :)

    When tryna get in the industry would you recommend switching to maya, zsculpt and similar if you mainly use blender?

      Depends on the studio.
      If you're going for the games industry. Chances are the animation and rigging team will be dependant on Maya. Therefore, characters will be housed in Maya.
      For personal stuff, Blender is fine.
