When he said that there wasn’t a way for Teresa to have contacted WIcked, there actually was. The one scene where they are escaping the ropes and the dude tries to shoot them but he gets shot: he drops his radio, you see Teresa look down at it and a realization dawn on her face- then the scene cuts but she must have done it there.

2:29 Wicked gave them new names before sending them into the maze, based on famous scientists etc. Gally = Galileo, Newt(on), Alby = Albert Einstein, plenty of famous Charles (Chuck), Thomas Edison, Aris(totle), etc. This was explained in the book. They could avoid giving the same name twice.
Speaking of this, Minho seems to be based on Ho Chi Minh, so the guy they named after a revolutionary just turns out to be a fierce warrior with a rebel spirit

According to James Dashner, Minho wasn’t based off of any famous scientist or historical figure. He was instead, named after his niece’s Korean husband.

Even though the movies were already drastically different from the books, the fact that the cranks are made to be more like zombies tipped me over the edge. I think the director's aim was to make the movies more cliche
I hated that they did that.
This was the tipping point for me as well. I watched the first one and was like "Alright that was fucking awful but I can get past some of the terrible rewriting and the terrible acting and maybe enjoy the sequels." Then I started watching the second one and lost my fucking mind over the fact that they are zombies and not deranged sick ppl like they were supposed to be

The worst thing about The Scorch Trials movie was that the cranks became zombies and this removed the tension caused by the though that you may be slowly going crazy and murderous. Also my favorite seen was removed, it was the one with the crank that said,"Rose stole my nose I suppose", that was legitimately the only time a brook has ever filled me with dread.

Fun thing that nobody seems to see: there's an unnamed mute kid that escapes with the group in the beginning and follows them until they run away from the zombie mall and hide until the morning. Then, he just disappears. Unless the zombie took him offscreen and the main characters are assholes enough to not even notice.

This movie starts with the beginning of book 3. I hate how they changed the very core of the entire second book. In the book they were told they HAD to get through the scorch for the cure. It was a TRIAL like the name says. WICKED wanted them to go on the journey and even saved Thomas at one point (healed him and put him back). In the movie there's nothing to do with a trial. They're just on the run from WCKD. And the ending of book two where the group has to stand their ground and fight the monsters would've been epic. I was really looking forward to that since they included the grievers from book one. It would've connected it back to the first film a bit more. This film removed all the cool sci-fi and mind manipulation aspects and turned it into a film about running from the bad guys and that's it.

They seemed to remove everything cool from the book. Remember the tattoos that gave them 'roles'? And the betrayal of Aris and Theresa? And the dangerous heat of the Scorch? I keep going back to that epic battle at the end where they hide in those eggs and then fight the sci-fi monsters back-to-back. I was so excited to see what they would do with all that. To my chagrin, they excluded it all. Why? That's what made the book cool. They just dumbed it down so much that it lost all the things that made it unique.

Remember when Teresa was not in the book at all until the end? Remember when Aris wasn't there either? Remember when Janson voluntarily let the survivors go outside at the beginning of the book? Remember when the disease which caused the Cranks was in the air, thus impossible to avoid unless you were an immune? Remember when Cranks weren't zombies? Yeah, I remember that too. I liked the movie, it's good as a standalone movie franchise. But as a book adaptation, it's definitely bad.

I'm surprised there wasn't a sin for when the background kid who was in the first movie (had 0 lines in both) miraculously disappeared in the mall zombie chase scene. He was there one scene and in the next he wasn't. No death or anything, but there was a deleted scene where he died, but that doesn't count.

i didnt like it because they basicsally ignored the heart of the storyline and focus on the love story that was not as big in the book. he just kinda like her in the book and then she helped him in the end . they didnt have this huge romantic. anyway now that im done with my rant haa
