I ordered the Sony 9000ES. I am super satisfied. These instructions are very well executed. Do not be afaid to do yourself. I did run into a couple of challenges. For some reason I had a clearance issue with the fitment and the horizontal plastic at the top of the opening for the stereo. Additionally, removed the metal tabs at the rear. They seemed to block insertin the stereo fully. I am sure I was doing something wrong but I am a caveman at busted out the Dremel to shave about a 1/8 off the horizontal plastic bar. That solved the fitment issue at he front. Additionally I deleted the two metal tabs at the rear. Problem solved.

Well done. Just ordered this. I'm curious, is this using maestro module? Is it built in to the head unit?

Yes! It uses the Maestro module and we flash your module prior to shipping to your exact Jeep! It's not built into the head unit, instead it's attached to your harness!

Maestro and SiriusXM module were attached via velco on the bottom of the unit. Everything all hooked up and ready to go. If this caveman can do it, so can you! See my comments above regarding my challenges and how I solved them. I went caveman to solve.

You mentioned that your disassembly of the JK is for 2012-18. How different is this from the 2007 JK?

2007’s have a different center console portion.
You have to remove the top of the dash by removing two 7mm bolts, then two 7mm bolts down low in the center console behind either the panel or netting.
Then gently pop the clips holding the dash panel on. It won’t come all the way off, but then remove the four 7 mm from the radio and remove and unplug radio. That’ll do it.

Could you please consider doing a video for the older JKs? This is just too different for my comfort level. If I’m going to invest this much money into a stereo, I am just nervous about messing things up. Or not being able to use the items being sold.
