That was...a bizarre response. I mean, I expected him to say something like "he's just trying to throw me under the bus to cover up for his crimes", or "he'll do anything to avoid jail time", but "he's trying to embarrass me"? When I think of embarrassing Trump moments, I think of "god bless the united shersh", or the paper stuck to his shoe when he was walking up to AF1, or the umbrella fail. Apparently Trump's idea of getting embarassed is being implicated in a felony. Go figure.
Frankly, this whole presidency has been a facepalm. Every time he goes quiet for awhile, I start to wonder what's wrong and I pull my hand away from my face for a minute...and then he starts saying stupid stuff and doing stupid stuff and oh, good, we can keep our palms to our faces semi-permanently until the goober is taken out of the White House in cuffs.

Meanwhile, Obama was off accepting an award and giving an actually presidential sounding speech. I think one of the biggest differences between Obama and Trump is the way they handle their detractors. Obama is calm, measured, and witty. He makes the Republicans look downright silly. Trump is loud, obnoxious, and bombastic. He makes the Democrats look like the adults in the room. It's funny he says people are trying to embarrass him, he does a good enough job of that on his own.

Trump is the kind of president one risk getting from living in a country with a democracy that allows people like him to gain political power. I may not like how China censors websites and the way it has quelled dissident in the past (among other things, I really don't want to live there), but Xi Jinping worked hard for many years to become president, and Trump (if he was from China) would never be allowed to gain any political power whatsoever there, as he was elected pretty much solely because he is famous and *says* that he will change the system when he doesn't actually have any experience in the field that is politics. In that area, China is better than the US as only hard-working people can become president. I feel like the US should learn from them somehow.
I just refuse to travel there now.

Let me throw a little facts your way. You have states like Michigan where 46% of the vote translates into 65% of the seats. You have a country where you can lose by 3 Million votes and still become the leader of your country. You have states where the elected official (Governor of Georgia) actively restricts the votes of *some* people in his state through his legislative powers, while he is running for election.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg, I can dig up way more from just the last too years if you would like. Yea you surely are a "true" democracy........
