Hi! Me and my father are the owners of Autolack in Halmstad, Sweden. Fun to see 🤩
That's amazing! Any pictures or information about the history of this truck?
Världen är liten!, och jag som tyckte det var roligt som bott i Halmstad och lärt mig köra lastbil med Scania på LV6, men det kan komma närmre 😅
Sounds like a collab coming 😅
@@m03anlo världen är verkligen liten, häftigt! 😃
@@JetzeMellema I’m gonna see if I can find something 😃
The G stands for Heavy Long Distance transport.
C is Construction Transport
D is Distribution Transport
L is Long Distance Transport
G is Heavy Long Distance Transport.
From 2005 on when the new Scanias came out the G Scania's are all with the middle cab between R and P.
Uh oh, he’s gonna have some fun with this one 😳
I guess it could be heavy duty truck, but i doubt it is long distance, considering that tiny fuel tanks.
@@Z4N7 you can order Bigger Tanks. Most you Drive Heavy Transports with the G's Traktors Truck's or with longer wheelbase Longwood or with another wheel formula the Big Heavy Transports: Ships,Planes, wind turbines.
And for what stands S ?
@@kankerbende New Generation has models:
S, R, G, P and P low entry.
Difference between model S and R that S has no tunnel on floor between seats.
S has higher fixed cab (4 steps to go inside).
R has tunnel and lower fixed cab (3 steps to go inside).
One switch for truck taglift, the other with 3 wheels on it, is for lifting front axle on the trailer.
You in US run 2 axle with dual tire trailers. We run 3 axle single tire. So if you're running empty or light, you can lift the first axle to reduce tire wear and fuel consuption.
To use the Webasto you have a controller on the wall behind your left shoulder. Best regards from a Norwegian trucker who have driven Scania for 20 years. I started in a 4x2 94P (4-series), then a 4x2 P360 and a 6x4 R580 (5-series) and now a 2020 R650 8x4 NextGen. Info: Approximately 99,9% av all new trucks in Norway have automatic gearbox type like Scanias Opticruise. You know what we say... there are only 2 types of trucks. Old and new Scania.
Was never interested in European trucks, Until you made the vids of the Scania trucks. Think they are awesome.
Glad you like them!
funny thing
for as a German truck driver its almost the exact in reverse
but like a hazy mirror image
Bruce, you have truly become an honorary Canadian in my books with your Scania purchases and road trips through our Great White North. Thank you for the great video content and take care, eh? Just a Canuck from Eastern Ontario, Canada😁
Wow, thank you!
The chinise diesel heater all over youtube are copy of webasto. it is most likely just dirty inside so the brain shut it off if it is not heating properly.... super easy to open and clean after you find it under the cabin somewhere :D@@Bruce_Wilson
When the seller appeared , i was like: YES!!, that's clearly a dutchman. Love my dutch neighbours, believe me you can travell to the middle of nowhere and they'll be there before you, already setting up shop. 😂. They never lost that world travelling&entrepreneurial spirit, it's in their DNA. We kinda envy them for that.
Greetz from little Belgium ❤️🇧🇪🇳🇱🇺🇲
He’s Canadian though but yes 😅
@miles5600 bro sounds Dutch and I should know lol.

Hi bruce being a scania 770s owner I think this is a real step up and I am glad to hear your not going to do crazy ripping it apart . You are getting better with scania and this a big powerfull truck look after this and treat it like a lady she will reward you well it looks good your best buy so far
Finally, someone from the U.S.A that loves our european semi trucks. Love your content, can't wait to see more videos about your Scanias❤️🍻
No one hates them, they're just so dangerous and inefficient, and it's no fun tilting everything inside.
@@Unduplicatablethey’re not dangerous nor are they inefficient…
@Unduplicatable bro what are you even talking about 😂
I think he means sitting so close to the front. No idea about inefficiency, surely he can’t be talking about fuel lol

Honestly, I think that's the best looking one you've picked up, looks damn good in black.
I agree
sure does and does so in Germany too
Way back before 9/11, I drove commercial motor coach in Ohio. As part of my training for the new company, I had to do a U.S./Canada border crossing at the Ambassador Bridge. On the coach was me (the trainee) and the trainer. The U.S. border agent was lonely and board! He held us for an hour while standing in the warm bus and talking our ear off. I kept looking in the rearview mirror and the traffic was just piling up behind us! He finally let us go. I guess he decided he had to get back to work.
Another funny little story is when the U.S. and Canada were doing a joint military exercise. I had 55 U.S. marines on the coach. Each one of them had an automatic weapon (I want to say M-16, but it was so long ago now, and I was honestly not paying that much attention.) We had no ammunition on-board (except the senior enlisted/officer who did have a loaded pistol.). We were stopped at the border going into Canada, and the customs officer asked the standard two questions for back then, "Did you stop at the duty free store?" "No." "Do you have any firearms?" "Yes. A lot of them!" The Buffalo, New York customs border had about 300 buses crossing. The agent just looked at me, shook the cobwebs out of his head and said, "Go on."
Wilson Scania Imports of Florida in the near future!!
Ol PegginLeggin showing up was a minty treat!
hell yea, we need more collars with that minty pr**k
DUDE!!!! been looking into this for years. Glad you are bringin them to mainstream! Love it!
144 = 14 Litre engine + series 4
G = chassi type, in this case heavy long distance transport
The 460 is the stock horsepower.
👍 nice!! You know I'm American to the bone (still have 2 Ford IDI trucks) but i always wondered why American engine makers could never make a V8 work in heavy trucks Scania has be doing it forever. Great vid Bruce bring every one you can afford to the US
Detroit Diesel and Cat both made V-8 for their road tractor. We went to the inline 6 configuration for several reasons, one being ease of maintenance and better torque curve. They worked well enough and the DD was popular on up til the 80's.
Scania V8 is more about prestige and one upping Volvo, the other Swedish truckmaker. The moment Volvo puts out bigger and stronger engine, Scania has to go bigger to keep their "King of the Road" title... Volvo probably could ruin Scania, just by using their wealth to make a truck that is ridiculously powerful and have all the features imaginable, including helipad... because Scania would then have to make one with two helipads.
Yes I understand both points I know about the cats I've owned and worked on the 3208s and saw 3408s in action and I know of the Detroits my dad loved them. even the Mack v8s. I'm just saying I'm curious how they make it work fuel mileage and such
Also Renault AE500 magnum ran a Mack EE9 V8.
@@squidcaps4308I don’t think Volvo could ruin Scania that easily. Truckers are just as irrational as everyone else. It would take a long time to change people’s loyalties. Scania could just bore out a bigger capacity V8 and a holographic griffin’s head and they would be fine.
Nice 👍 I am a trucker from Sweden so I'm just want to tell you Halmstad is a city in the west coast in Sweden who paint this Scania
Some guy from the shop who painted this is already in the comments lol
Love your channel 👍 And really awesome that you have gotten a few Scanias. I was a truck mechanic for 10 years for German trucks M•A•N here in Norway. I've driven Scanias,Volvos,Ivecos ,Daf etc,and a few Americans btw😎 You should get a 90's M•A•N 700 hp. It has an 18,4 litre v10 engine...it's got lots of potensial...Great work Bruce. Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
F2000 evo with the 603Hp V10 would be nice! Or a Iveco Eurostar with the 17.2L twin turbo V8.
@@WieDrDerJonge i agree👍🚛
2:37 This truck was painted in Halmstad Sweden. A small city on the west coast.

First ever channel that got me so excited about trucks. Gotta love V8 Scanias!! Bruce is also so nice guy that it makes these videos entertaining.
Remember my first night away truckin in a Mercedes 814 in deepest darkest Scotland....it was -12 degrees C
The night heater stopped working i had to scrape the windscreen on the inside freezed my ass off that night 😂
Great video, bruce, and cool addition to your fleet
Bruce says " We're not taking this one apart!" .... umm! What .... you not feeling well Bruce?🤣 you should put that statement on a T- shirt!!
Made me happy to hear, I do hope he fixes it up into perfect shape though. Would be cool if he got a Scandinavian trailer on it as well with 3 axles
Looking forward to you coming to the UK and spending time with TruckerTim, you need to get him to take you to truck show Ciney and/or Assen in a convoy like he did last year. I think it would be worth it.
What a beautiful truck! Love it! You should definitely go on a coast to coast long haul and record each day!
Out of these 5/4 years, knowing Bruce Wilson, I have never seen him as nervous I had as I seen him in the video 26:41 😂😂
Watching you from New Zealand Bruce, Scania have a big presents here. I look forward to every video you make on discovering Scania
It will do 12 miles to the gallon easy. Because your hearing is set up for 70mph & it’s just the tree are stir unit. Here in the U.K. trucks are geared for weight not speed & most loaded trucks a 110,000 lb or 44,000kg & set up for 56nph. They will run at 56 at 1350rpm
Where as your was at 1100rpm at 70mph
In the U.K. a tractor unit empty on the flat or freeway will easily achieve 12 miles to U.K. gallons
Yessss!! I am so glad that you bought another one!! Can't wait to see it more often!
Halmstad is in Sweden, southern part of sweden on the westcoast
There is one button to lift the rear axle and one weight transfer button, the axle won't lift at certain weight so if you are stuck or on soft ground you can transfer weight to the drive axle if you hold down the weight transfer button.
With the newer R series it will actually show you the weight on each axle on the screen and you can see the weight move from one axle to the other.
I drive a S590, and I can also see the weight on the axles. Even when not all axel are on the ground. With mine DAF, I hade to lower al the axels before I could check the weight.
Congratulations, Bruce, on your purchase of your new truck!
Nice to see that all Scanias come from the Netherlands or belonged to a Dutch person. I come from the Netherlands myself. and I like that these trucks are now driving around on the other side of the world.
Is via nl naar canada gegaan maar denk dat de auto van origine een zweed was aangezien hij daar overgespoten is en het een tandemasser is.
is door vsb in druten naar holland gehaald
Any pictures or other details you can share with Bruce?
I dont think this came from netherlands i think this one originally came from Sweden it was also repainted in south of sweden Auto lack Halmstad
@@nzxt1234 it was imported in holland by vsb trucks and parts and offered up for sale, exported by them to after being sold to canada
Wow. So cool. I have not far too Halmstad. Kattegatt side is superb.
The colour and chromes siuts the lorry. With black and chromed semitrailer it will looks 🤘.
Good luck with the new Scania project 😎
Thank you for the video Bruce and I hope your trip was good.Take care of you.
Thanks 👍
All Scanias I have driven have the Opticruise. I quite like it.
It does hiccup once in a while by not downshifting enough.
All you have to do is be concious on what your are about to do and adapt your throttle control.
When you know you are going to need power after a turn or something, arrive slower, less gas and it will downshift more.
If you don't, it might not downshift enough, realizing it needs a lower gear, it will downshift...killing the momentum, then needing to downshift even more...killing all momentum!
I love watching these roadtrips! Great videos Bruce.
That's awesome Bruce love seeing these trucks in the US
So many parts iv'e done on that truck, Can`t even tell how proud i am over my part in scanias products.
Hope you enjoyed your time in the great white north. Greetings from Canada.
Another great video thanks for educating and entertaining us with some amazing content .
Take care opticruse can be dangerous, once I so it happened with one mechanic, he started the truck in the shop and it's put it self to drive lucky the mechanic had enough situation awareness after the clutch didn't work he pressed hard break and that give hem enough time to turn off the engine, end don't go over the closed shop door which was 2-3 meter away.
The other lift axle is for the trailer lift axle.
You can adjust the tachograph to the tire size, I don't know how it's working but it has some dip switches on it if you want to make it precise.
Love the Scania truck videos. You mentioned that you came through Portal into ND. I live in Bismarck ND, would have loved to see you and the truck. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the new Scania truck. Thanks Bruce.
What ever you do with this Trucks, the Best of my Day is to see the Videos. Best Wishes from Germany
The new addition to the Scania fleet is absolutly mint 👌, love Peg , watched alot of his vid’s , really looking forward to a bunch of amazing content with the new Scania , congrats Bruce 👍✌️
-YES! -YES! -YES!
Finally some REALLY intresting SCANIA content from Bruce! (Almost gave up hope there -for a little while...) SO NICE to see Bruce behind a steering wheel of a righteous SCANIA truck again!!!
That old, black 144 is a beatiful truck. Look 4-ward -to seeing that thing completely DONE -and pulling some real loads on American raods. As a European trucker i'm SO EXITED to hear from real american truckers who will get to work with it; how this 144 SCANIA compares to the US Trucks.
Also: SO GLAD to hear that Bruce is coming back to visit Sweden -and SCANIA again. Hopefully for what so many of us wish 4: (Getting some newer SCANIA trucks in the hands of good US truckers. That would hands down be FREAKIN' ULTRA SWEET!)
Looks nice glad your getting into the scania Bruce can’t wait to see what coming next mate 😋🔥👏👏👏👏🇬🇧🇬🇧
What a great addition to your fleet. You could elongate the frame a bit and use the giant fuel tanks from the white Scania.
Bruce, its an abormal winter up here in Canada. usually this time of the year you wouldnt be able to see the grass in the fields, but this year is crazy we've had almost no snow The ditches are usually filled with snow level to the highway and even higher
Yeah, this year it was crazy in Latvia too. Like one week it went from -26C to +5 to -14 within 48 hours. This whole week temps were above freezing. And it appears it is going to be above 0 till the end of february. That's not normal for this area and time of year.
@@jur4x yep, it’s a wild time! We only dip below freezing over night at the moment, we were +8 the other day! Never in my life have i experienced this. Absolutely surreal.
Ok guys, let's get in. This is a very nice channel, and somehow very close to my world. My 144 G 460 is in Ylivoimala at the moment, they are doing a complete engine rebuild.
Amazing Wilson!! The Scania revolution started!! I´m from Venezuela, Amazing thats things happen in the USA
My dad worked at Volvo Trucks most of his life. One day he was at one of the office areas and saw a Scania truck being photographed by the driver and another guy. My dad tried to contact the security guys (pre cellphone) in time but the only got like a blurry shot from it leaving. It was a new and not fully announced model. A week later may dad was contacted by a guy at office, they got a better shot of it sent to them, from the drivers perspective.
You should get the heater working by turning the heat adjuster fully up and right, then you should have a panel on the wall behind the driver seat tu tufn on the heater
Ahh ok thanks!
You see the White steamtype logo, turn it there..and the same logo is on the button in the panel that starts the heater
Loving every video you put out Bruce, especially the Scania. All you need now is a T- Cab.
I have experience with this Scania model. Super reliable and sturdy truck!
I am glad you guys in America are getting to see what we got in Europe. Scanias are the best of trucking in Europe and i hope more of them will make it across the pond
Sharp purchase Bruce. Very nice old Scania.
We’ve been having some weird weather up here. Normally we would have 10 feet of snow or probably a bit more. It’s dumb not use to it cause I wanna go snowboarding and snowmobiling in the mountains. It’s been a crappy year
U should make these look really good like the ones in Europe and I recommend making the exhausts sounding good and also recommend remapping these, the power could reach narly numbers
After been working on Scania in a Scania workshop in Sweden for 11 years I can say this is a good piece of a old truck. Take care of it 😃
The Scania next to the one you bought is an old rien Meijndert truck from the Netherlands 👌🏼 good to see it's stil in use!
Heater is on the turn knob for the heating temperature, just turn it to the 3 white arrows and let her blow 🔥👍🏻
That's cool can't wait to see what Tim and there crew think of them
Keep up the great work Bruce.
Halmstad is my hometown, situated in the westcost of Sweden. Long sandbeaches and a fantastic musictown. The town is more than 700 years old.
Safe trip home Bruce stay safe out there ,can’t wait for the next one
Hi Bruce you can change the callerbration for the Tacograph speed open it up and in behind there is a hatch with a seal if you take it off you will find some small switches and certain settings will change the speed
Hi there.🍻
I drove and kind of lived in one 164L 480 HP with a cab just like this one for 11years. It was an amazing beast with a v8 engine. I left it with more than 2 000 000 km with no engine problems.
Love Scanias. They're the best trucks with an amazing quality build, and also strong as f@#c.
Enjoy your trucks man.
Cheers from Portugal 🍻😉🍻
Ok Bruce! Its official! You've got the SCANIA bug! Glad to see your channel taking off brother!! BTW those SCANIAS ARE BADASS! Do a stretched frame SCANIA! You are the man with the maniacal plan brother!
Cool. This truck is most likely started off doing work in Sweden. It's been painted by a company in Halmstad, a city in southern Sweden.
3:39
being a driver in Germany and having driven SCANIA a couple of times my guess is that this truck can remote the lift axle on the trailer or it is an indicator panel for the trailer lift axle status
If you are planning to travel to Finland, it would be great to bring you wood loggin in the car. The car is a Scania 730😎 You have only see the top of the mountain when we are speaking about scanias👍

I’m so happy that you bring Scania to the US, really showing how great the european trucks are and finally starting to make a revolution there. Wished I could drive a Scania there, would have been so cool. And keep that one in top shape so you can show it to other Americans and make them think twice.
used to plow snow with an early r500 opticruise, with the plow down i had to use the clutchpedal between every gear in lowrange or else it would stall itself
Hey bruce good day from norway but remeber that if you tune it to mutsh the idle will be realy bad but runs good when you are a little over idle it runs good and has all the horsepower
Awesome score Bruce, I can't wait to see you transform this truck into something extra special.
Hi Bruce, she looks really nice for her age. Like your channel. It's a shame that you can not import the newer ones to the US. Take care and have a nice trip home.
Hi Bruce - great vid. Love the Scania content. Proper trucks
Thats the most i ever saw of ol Peggin Leggin !! Minty asF 👌
The G describes the cab type. It was the lowest sitting cab for the 144, leading to an relatively high motor tunnel on the inside.
Great to see that this great piece of engineering is also recognized across the atlantic, i'm a little jealous so keep up the great work!
Opticruise is on my opinion the best invention ever. You have all the advantages of manual clutch on reversing long trailers and kreeping off-road conditions but on road no need to think about gears at all ! Greetings from Finland !
Tri drives in Australia are used for Roadtrains, i.e., triple trailers in tri and now quad trailer axle groups of about 120 + metric tons GCVM.
That's awesome you got to meet peg man I love that dude! I also always wondered why he has never shown his face before he is definitely a mysterious dude he is awesome tho always has great content
