You need NO TRESPASSING signs posted! Close/lock the gate and put up a sign with how to reach you for access.

I work for a towing/trucking company. It’s frustrating the amount of trespassers that we have. We’ve had batteries stolen out of one of our semis, wheel covers, all kinds of stuff. 2 things I can’t stand are liars and thieves
My friend had all the chains and straps and also the light bar off the roof of his ramp truck stolen

Retired LEO from south Florida... Trying to make noise? Can't blow his horn?!? Thanks for the video. I usually have to watch other channels to see my brothers in action. I figured at first that he was going back there to dump those white trash bags. If you don't want to scare customers away with no trespassing signs at the main gate, maybe put them up past the building in front of the trucks. Put one on both sides (driver & passenger) of the roads that go back to other areas. Write the date on the back of the signs showing when they were installed. POSTED PRIVATE PROPERTY NO TRESPASSING VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED or similar wording. Good luck!

Add a second gate at the rear of the building with an opener. That will keep people out but still allow easy access for those with permission. It also allows potential clients to visit your business through the front door of your building while the rest of the property is locked up

Electric coded gates my friend i had a boat storage yard for a while and ended up putting in electric gates and barbed wire leaving your main gate open from 8 to 5 nowadays just invites earthworms like that dude to skulk around your property good luck

Install electric gates. Everyone has to report to the office FIRST before entering and the gates are opened and closed for that person only via a switch in the office or key fob/remote. Even if you have to move the gates up a little closer to the shop driveway so you can have a walking in entrance to the office only. And a camera!
Or, convert those gates to electric and have a sign on the gate with your cell number so they can ring you and you can see them via the security camera and then you can open the gate via your phone or fob/remote controller.
It is a pain in the butt but it's a pain in the butt because people don't respect other people's private property.

It’s a business and they want customers to be able to conduct business hints why after hours the gates shut and locked.

@@KE458S tax write-off only is worth a fraction of the total cost.. meaning if they upgrade security most of that comes out of profits requiring higher revenue to offset.
The gate on a road leading to another property with likely an easement to allow access for the back one. They have to get permission from both their landlord and the other property owner. prior to restricting access over above what they currently have permission to do. Also they are leasing the property, they don't own it, so you're talking about a major investment to setup what you suggest and frankly I doubt the landlord would agree to pay for it.

My extended family (I have zero claim) has a very large homestead in the rural mountains of Idaho. It was homesteaded by my great grandfather, and it has been an active ranch for a long time. We scattered both my father's ashes there and my wife's ashes there. It is so far out, you have to know how to get there. My wife's family disowned her, so it was up to me to find her a final resting place. I told her entire family that if they want to go see where their daughter or mother (she has two kids) ashes are buried then you have to contact me first so I can contact my cousin to let them know they are coming (Out of respect, I tell my cousin when I go out there as well--not my land.). No trespassing! But the views are amazing (Teton Mountains!!!!)! Keep those drug addicts out. (There has to be a better solution, but alas, that is a different topic for a different day.)
Oh: I should have added, the active ranch is a cattle ranch. Cattle rustling in Idaho comes with some pretty hefty fines. Yes, there are brand inspectors...you will be caught selling someone else's cows. And yes, our family active brand is still registered.
Please post clean up videos... its great to share people being helpful to the environment around them. We pick up trash in our neighborhood and bring our kids with us when we do so they learn to leave no trash to keep things looking clean and well kept. Keeping trash out helps keep trash people out. If we all did our part ... wishful thinking but it starts at home

I had seen that truck a time or two around glad none of our equipment was stolen but i keep my tool on my waist and the trucks and trailer close to where we work there is a red one all banged up old ford watch out for too. Maybe some cameras to get all the tags and one second where it can see who's driving as they come through point in each direction that way if they are just high enough they might be able to see into the bed of a truck if they do make off with equipment. Hate you're going through that. My brother has lived close by for several years and leaves the keys and all his vehicles and his house unlocked during the days when everybody's gone it's crazy that just less than 10 miles away is a whole different story.

One suggestion for you post a sign at gate stating everyone has to come to front office to get permission. Also put your phone number.
Basically a driver, delivery or customer calls your number.you tell them you can open gate and meet them to verify everything snd you tell them where to go. Every large business and hospitals i work at do it this way

FYI basics of trespassing, not law just a function of how trespassing works. You must tell someone that they're trespassing and must leave and if they don't leave they cM be arrested for trespassing. Criminal trespassing is someone that's been told to leave and they return that becomes a criminal trespass. A higher level to citation or arrestable offense. I opine.

Unfortunately, as you said it's been open for years so everyone feels like they have the right to go back there. Maybe this episode will clue in the locals that now it's off limits. one thing you didn't show unless I misunderstand the laws that deputy could not let that vehicle off the private property on the public street without a valid license tag or a police report of it being stolen and a Visible VIN so therefore it had to be impounded.
