I dont understand why the devs said they dont want mines to be deadly so they nerfed them that u just go unconcious when triggering them but now they add something even more deadly to the game...

This has been covered, I think. Something along the lines of when your clothes get damaged, a random item within that piece of clothing will have it's condition affected.
I’m gonna say it, cooking grenades for a trap is shit! We should all have an amnesty on doing it. It’s balanced if you get a second to try and run away when you trip one. It’s not when you get killed cos of some weird shortened fuse mechanic that makes no sense! It’s unbalanced IMO. Great vid man!!!

I tripped over a tripwire last week when scouting a base but I remembered the video about grenade times and I was able to sprint to safety because he didn’t cook the grenade. Lucky for me.
I waited so many goddamn years to see tripwires in dayz. They were modded in a little while back. Modding has saved dayz so hard, as we all know. I always thought the screwdriver might be able to have a 50% chance to disable tripwires
Yeah not realistic but its a bit easier than adding grenades with different length fuses. I think in dayz its a 5 second fuse but irl there have been all sorts of grenades with very short fuses or even zero-delay fuses used for traps like this or for the enemy to find and use (think like guerilla warfare type stuff)
@@HelllNawhEasier or lazier? Make the m67 a second fuse, hell add a weaker frag with a 3 second fuse like the vog-25, but the way it is currently feels unintended, is unrealistic, and sucks for the game
personally think the traps should trigger while prone, crouching, throwing items and walking; essentially by touching the wire it should detonate, but they should definitely allow jumping over the wire. From the looks of how it operates in the video, having explosives detonate a whole four or five seconds after triggering the wire makes it pretty redundant as a killing tool since you can either walk through it or leg it away after triggering it unless you do the instant explode grenade exploit which makes it extremely deadly if combined with the exploit.
Could be wrong but I think carp are better? Haven't fished mackerel since 1.13 but they used to drop 1 fillet. Good job btw! Edit: Am wrong, new update made mackerel better!

A while back you gave me the name of the Offline mode addon that lets you see bullet trajectories, but I can't find that comment - can I get the name of that addon from you again?

I don't know exactly how grenades work in reality when it comes to cooking off the firing mechanism - would depressing the spoon (or replacing it in the case of Soviet grenades) cause it to reset the time or would it function as depicted in the game with a shorter delay on next use?
@@nutbastard in that case presumably irl the tripwire would be set to release the pin and lift the spoon in some way? Which would mean you'd still have the fuse delay, relying on the blast radius of the grenade to do any damage
You can use the same metal wire with multiple traps at different times. For example you can go and catch a rabbit/hare, then convert it to a tripwire for a pvp situation. There's no penalty for doing so, other than losing the wooden sticks and a little knife damage during dismantling
It's getting obvious that we need way to craft improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Heck, we already got propane gas, that would be a great start. Plus making a pipe bomb, with nails, perhaps a tin can or pipe and by adding either gunpowder or some mixed chemicals. Not sure how long such traps should last though as to not make it too bad or too trivial.
You can make ieds its cooking pot gas stove propane and grenades in the cooking pot then you light the stove and wait like 2 minutes and all the grenades explode at once
in 1.16 the snares seem to disappear after 1 use. most of them do, sometimes they don't. is this a bug? or is this because maybe the traps are too close together?

They returned the backpack, months ago during the "leather crafting update", but completely forgot about the rest of the leather outfit/gear along with also forgetting the dyeing and bleaching, and let's be honest, with an extremely dumbed down method of preparing leather.....but it's been months since they returned the backpack and the tanning of leather, I seriously think they completely forgot about returning the full leather crafting, like usual.
u need to use a combo of checking n walking depending on the situation... I f a guy has trapped a door he is watching, then u r far better off taking his grenade and throwing it at him than walking through the door into his fire...
There's been no changes to the game file shock values, and I retested damage drop-off in 1.13 because I'm updating a website tool and noticed no changes too.

How does it make no sense. Grenades have a 4 second fuse, you can cook the fuse and have it really short. The point of it is to kill.

IRL when you release the spoon, you ignite an internal fuse. Once that chemical reaction is going, there's no stopping it. It's like striking a match.

You can repair the snares I havent tried other traps, dismantle it, and use duct tape on the parts that need fixed

The only bad thing about Tripwire trap is cooking grenade. Other thing like "invisible" wire in doorways its awsome thing and it shouldnt be changed

When we tried to set up the traps on a server they went off as soon as we placed them on the trip wire.
I am guessing you un-pinned the nade first which as Wobo says in the vid you don't have to do.

Do flags have any effect on traps? If I put one out in my base and then logged off for a day, would it stay as long as the flag is raised?
I'm sure which items the flag refreshes the persistence for. There may be a list online somewhere
