    Bawang Merah - Red Onion

In the original story bawang merah (Red Onion) was good and bawang putih (garlic) was bad. but due to the present-day confusion with the connotation of Putih(white) which is most associated with good and Merah (red) is associated with bad.
the original story intended using bawang putih (garlic) and bawang merah (red onion) because most of Malay cooking using red onion in the dish which brings a tasty and sweetness to the food while garlic can be a very strong odor.

Ancient Malaya n Indonesia peoples like to put their children name relate to their surroundings. Like if the child born on full moon, they might nak their child Bulan (Moon). Sometime they named them base on flower like Kemboja (Frangipani), Melati (Jasmine), Mawar (Rose), Kenanga (Ylang Ylang) and many other and sometime they put weird names too like Guruh Petir (Tunder Storm), Ketot (Shorty).
I used to work as Reservation and Ticketing officer in Travel agent, I had seen so many weird and funny names.

For Muslim community yes men are allowed to marry up to 4. But Islam teach us that if a man can't do justice then marry only 1. Justice is a very heavy word cause it hold so much responsibility for the man.
So yeah, can marry more than one but not that easy.

Indeed, also polygamy is not only allowed to be practiced by Islam, but there are many non Muslim indigenous cultures that practiced polygamy (marry more than one wife) such as in Africa

The reason is during time back then, most women were widowed when their husband fallen in war. Usually, man married the widow for them to be part of a family and being taken care. Not because of uncontrollable sexual desire thing to have many women. The intention was of a noble one. Also, you should only and can get another wife if you are able to support both of them financially, be good to them and the first wife do agree to it.

    Ok, here’s My Understanding
In Indonesia : commonly Bawang Merah is Bad , while Bawang Putih is Good ,
In Malaysia : commonly Bawang Merah is Good , while Bawang Putih is Bad ,
Still Even though I’m from Indonesia i dont know Why there is 2 Similar Version although It mirrored The Protagonist and Antagonists between Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih, but still I’m Happy to knew that Both Indonesia and Malaysia Have Share this Nice legend , Happy peace,
And I’m hope that Malaysia and Indonesia can live together in Harmony as a Closed neighbour , 🇮🇩🤝🇲🇾

It's a good animation, but I wish they had the character sing the song in full...
    `Wahai bondaku (oh my mother)
bondaku si ikan kaloi (my mother the giant gourami fish)
    timbullah bonda (emerge/show yourself)~~'
In this tale, actually the mother become a specific fish, the ikan kaloi/giant gourami, a native to freshwater habitats in Southeast Asia

In Malaysia if you want to find a man that have more than one wife is very rare and hard to find it 😂 yes a muslim man allowed to married 4 wife but word "allowed" and word " wajib or in English obligatory or mandatory " it different.. allowed it mean depends on that man if he want married more than one wife buttt don't forget about responsibility as a father, husband to your wife and your kids..Meanwhile, wajib or mandatory in Islam is mean you must do it either you like it or not but if you are truly muslim you will not feel burden to do it like solat or pray, fasting..So the conclusion is, polygamy is not a mandatory in Islam, yeah...In Malaysia it difficult for you to find a man that have more than one wife ahahahahaha..Malay girl very powerful you know, even Malay man not so brave to married other girl 😂
