This was my first time using my new DJI Goggles 2 and one if the first opportunities ive had to really let rip with the Zcon Twin on some low and fast flying… weather has been shocking here for a while now, even this flight narrowly avoided the rain which you might spot in the distance on this video. The image in the Goggle 2 with the O3 really is stunning! If only there was less complication and confusion around the DJI gear as it really has by far the best image quality.
Being critical of my own flying, I definitely could have gotten lower in places but its been a while since I’ve flown and this was the first time with the new goggles (with lower gain antennas than i'm used to). Hopefully still an enjoyable watch.

The surprise rainbow capture about a third of the way through was very cool. Great lines as always. Your osd setup is the bomb!
Thanks 😎 Yeah I saw a rainbow just before taking off so was hoping it would pop back out some time during the flight. Just shows how close I was to getting rained on again 😅

I noticed that too in the video. The 4k is definitely better quality than the 1080 live feed but sometimes in the smaller window it can look sharper, and YT can sometimes mess with the video quality unfortunately. Either way I'm happy with both live feed and recording, apart from in low light/dark as it gets quite bad then. Cheers

That’s one hell of a walk if that goes down. Great flying and I really love the low and fast flying down mountains. The good thing about flying downwards is the model is always technically in line of sight all the time. Flying low altitude on the flat is the planet eventually gets in the way of the signal. 😊
Yeah I hope not have to make that walk. It will be a hike through bushes and a difficult recovery! Cheers

Man you're only getting better! Your speeds are awesome, that is like a friggin low level rocket. That FPV view looks even faster and lower than the HD! Must be FOV or overall image size or something tricking my brain. Nice flying bruv.

Haha yeah I don't know why 99, I was at full throttle and my channel is configured correctly using the rx_range cli in iNav.

I don’t think having 2 motors really helps in yaw stability really. Especially as they’re so close together

What did you use to stabilised your video ?? Directly out of the cam ? When we compare with the flying view its much more smooth.
The O3 has 2 options for stabilisation. You can use built in RockSteady or you can use Gyro data and stabilise in Gyroflow. I used Gyroflow on this video

I assume you are using BF43COMPAT? Might have a look at BFHDCOMPAT if you want to push the OSD out to the edge. I think you need iNav 6.1.1. Very nice flying. Are you using gyroflow for the HD onboard recording or just letting the native DJI stabilization processing?
Yeah I'm already using betaflight compatibility mode but on 6.0. I will push the OSD out a little once I've updated. On previous flights I used Rocksteady but in this one I tried Gyroflow.
Great flight. The DVR is amazingly good with zero breakup. Flying through those valleys would kill my analog fpv feed. What kind of range were you able to get?
Thanks 😊 i used to fly 1.3g mostly, because like you say 5.8 analogue would be really bad in those valleys. Digital is so much more reliable than 5.8 analogue. I haven’t tested the range beyond 6/7km yet

Thanks 😃 I haven't really tested the range on the O3 with the G2 properly yet but in this flight and out to 6km it's all good. Meant to be good for 23km but that's far beyond what I ever fly.

Did you have to do anything special to get the osd layout like that? I have the v2 goggles with the o3 , through iNav, when it’s connected the osd info is scrambled 🤯🤯
You have to have betaflight compatibility mode enabled on the OSD tab.
That wing sure goes!! So is it out with the 1.3ghz and in with digital? Seems even the hardcore 1.3ghz fans are transitioning slowly now.
I do still have analogue 1.3 planes and gear but don't fly them as often. I will still use them for the real hardcore flights... but in situations like this video the digital feed works flawlessly.

Do you like flying this one more than the single motor version? Or your drak?
I enjoy flying the twin motor more... but the reason is not down to the airframe... it's because the video feed is just incredible from the O3 air unit and it allows me to fly lower than ever with confidence that I'm less likely to hit a tree (as I can see them coming!). The single and twin fly about the same to be honest. Both have been favourites and I'd struggle to recommend one version over the other. The Drak is great in high wind but I've not had chance to fly it as much because I keep having issues with it. It's currently in bits in my attic and might get a repair job over the winter.

Yeah haha! The stabilised 4k recording has a way of making it look so smooth and a lot slower than it felt at the time 😅

It would be awful to have a stabilised live feed on a high performance aircraft like this, you need to feel how its behaving or you'll crash

Why the non DVR video look so unsharp?
At times it can look less sharp and it’s probably down to a number of factors. Being cropped in order to stabilise, CZcams compression and the fact that parts of this flight were in quite low light, which the O3 camera really doesn’t like.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Maybe it's the translation. The OSD is not perfect as it's betaflight compatibility mode. But for the most part it works fine. The Goggles 2 record it on the file though which is nice.
the low FOV and motion blur do this speed injustice. next time try adding some pixel motion blur to your footage

Amazing flight.
But... DJI OSD font is ugly, and lack of proper fonts. They completely forgot that fixed wing, INAV, and Ardupilot community exist. So much Betaflight centric 😭
Thanks 😊 yeah the OSD isn’t great, especially once you compare it to all the nice sneakyFPV fonts we’ve seen recently. However, the OSD doesn’t really bother me and it’s definitely worth putting up with for the incredible image quality that comes with it 😃
