With added stability, increased traction, and a weight reduction, the Nike Maxfly 2 looks to be the premier sprint spike for any athlete looking to run a PR in the 100m - 400m, as well as hurdle events.

    Would this work for the 400m in comparison to something like Adidas SP3, Finesse, or even Superfly 2s?

      If you are an MD type with a very powerful stride and looking for an even more aggressive spike option, the Maxfly has been proven to be a potential pick for the 800m (even if it was really designed for the 100m-400m) -Connor

    3 questions: can you train in these, or is it just for race day? Are they good for the 400 meter? Are the the airchamber units improved (lot of popping in the first version)?

    • @shanky7974
      @shanky7974 Před 3 měsíci +1

      I have the same questions.
      1) Regarding the race day question, my experience with the maxfly 1's is very positive, I would definitely recommend training with it. I would advise not going too extreme with it due to its poor durability. Maxflys are prone to having their bubble popped and their plate snapped.
      2) The new maxflys are much more aggressive compared to the old ones, their plate is snappier and have higher energy return. I would recommend the maxfly 1s in this regard.
      3) I cant comment on the airchamber as I have not tested it.

      regarding Carbon-spikes: you SHOULD train in those. At least to some extend. Your feet will thank you

    What’s the best non-spike sprint shoe?

    • @copper5r660
      @copper5r660 Před 3 měsíci

      I would recommend the Nike Pegasus line. Especially the 37, 38, 39, and 40. But if you want to improve on the track I really think you should invest some time on getting used to spikes. They are really so much better than trainers in all cases, especially in wet weather.

    • @Andrew-ry9be
      @Andrew-ry9be Před 3 měsíci

      ASICS DS Trainer 26. Very lightweight, won’t let you slip almost anywhere (even on a majority of wet surfaces), firm enough to let you fully push but enough cushion for occasional plyometrics. Other recommendations I would give are the Nike Pegasus 36 and 39, New Balance Fuelcell Rebel V3, and Adidas Adizero Adiós 8/7.

    • @Trackreator
      @Trackreator Před 2 měsíci +1

      Depends on how stiff you want them:
      • flexible→jafly4, finesse
      • pretty hard→sp, superfly
      • aggressive→maxfly/2, sp/3
      there are also puma, new balance and asics but idk how avaiable are them…

      Newton’s 3rd law states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So no shoe can ever give you back more “energy” than you are exerting.

    Can you run in sprinting shoes without the spikes in dem. I don’t like spikes

    • @usemilter2770
      @usemilter2770 Před 3 měsíci +4

      Why would you do that? that just completely destroys the whole spike plate and so much more it’s called sprinting SPIKES for a reason

    • @runningwarehouse
      @runningwarehouse  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Theoretically you probably could but it's not advised. Since they were not designed to be used spikeless they may not be the most comfortable. You also risk destroying the spike wells which will make it very tough to put spikes in the shoe if you ever decide you would like to insert spikes. Our advice would be to get a lightweight trainer or a more classic low to the ground racing flat. -Connor
