They even just straight up rip-off the “Sons of Liberty” with the “Sons of Democracy”.
The sad part is the reason it's so rare is because Itagaki forced NoA to publish it, and as you can tell, they REALLY didn't want to. The game was originally going to be handed off to Xseed.

A lost artform now sadly, we need tryhard games like this to make a comeback and support them (unless they are legitimately horribly bad) because the entire gaming industry has become too risk-averse and repetitive. Everyone is afraid of new ideas or trying something new and I am not talking about only the big greedy AAA companies.

@@ninochaosdrache3189 And yet this year has been filled with games that are unusual with fully new ideas and they made BANK like palworld and helldivers 2 that wiped the floor with most AAA games right now, not to mention all the big companies just pumping out safe and predictable products are now finally biting them with godawful releases like suicide squad and skull and bones. At the end, all big companies will keep failing because they cannot simply comprehend the fact that gamers want their games to be FUN first and foremost that isn't a chore to play, doesn't insult them and isn't a sanitized glorified interactive movie.

Looking at this game now and comparing to its first reveal back in 2010, it makes me want to see that original vision and look at what the game could've been before it introduced that Ivan character.

I wouldn't lose all hope. Rising wasn't directed by kojima, and konami still owns the rights to the series. When they decide they want to make money again, an mgrr sequel will probably be priority one.

Thank you CVIT, as a deep, deep NG1,Black,DoA3 & DoA2U fan I’ve always been deeply curious about itagaki’s solo blank check after leaving Team Ninja and Tecmo.
I remember this pretty well, it needs to have gameplay that mixes gun/melee more like WH40K Space Marine, I remembered a scene in the Japanese temple where you have to hold off soldiers, it's when the game almost embraced what the game could be, where you have an open-ish environment and the freedom to take the routes as you please. I also played the Multiplayer once, it was fun but unbalanced and pay to win.
I do think a sequel would do the game right, have mechanics like making your own established Loadout before a level and more open freedom to engage combat.

If my memory isn't failing me, detonating the nukes further up would actually create less long term damage, since there would be less material sucked into the upper atmosphere to create nuclear fallout. Of course, nukes are nukes. There's gonna be some serious damage, whether they be detonated in the upper atmosphere or not.

Most nuclear defense tactics are actually just, "destroy the missile, but don't set off the payload." So, oddly enough, their handling of nuclear weapons is actually one of their most accurate aspects of the game.

honestly, visually this look quite awesome, cool character designs and the graphics and cutscenes well done even if they make no sense :D
I won't defend the graphics, they were pretty ugly. But I did really enjoy the game. And as far as the story and characters being ridiculous... Yes they are. And that's one of the things I liked about it. So many people say, "There's no way this was intentionally ironic." But I absolutely think it was. Think of the super cheesy action movies of the 80's like Schwarzenegger's Commando. Super dumb, totally unbelievable, yet a lot of fun.

People did some testing when the gamepad first came out and found that the screen on it tends to actually update faster than TVs connected through HDMI. I used to play Smash with it and never had an issue with lag, so it's probably the game.
Also it's called the Wii U Gamepad, so people just call it the gamepad.
Since you have a Wii U, you should play Xenoblade Chronicles X and know that it's a JRPG based on exploration and combat, not main story, but combat doesn't get really good til around the end of chapter 5 or 6 when the main battle mechanic gets added in and most stuff before is just kinda introducing the world

I just hope, if they remake it or port it to Switch (or the next console) that they'll enable "radio control" within the skell, so you can choose to have area or flying music on when in the Skell. Kinda puts a damper on the hype when I accidentally land right as the song is hitting the chorus, or need to jump right as the area song is hitting its stride

@@sadnessdiplomacy1985 Lots of people make worse stuff without their team. Thats why they usually take their team with them. Like for Shinji Mikami, Evil Within would have been way better with the Resident Evil team behind him.
@@realamericannegro977 Evil Within was still a decent game, it's not like it went from resident evil to straight up trash, the game had it's qualities but devil's third is a flop, then they continued straight into wanted:dead which in my opinion is a slightly better flop but still, it feels misunderstood, in ninja gaiden the game was commital but smooth attacks are fast, the enemies are fast so while you still get locked into animations it never feels bad because they are just that fast. Looping back to the Wanted:dead comparision I see a lot of people defending the game and lambasting reviewers for not figuring out that the block button can be used to cancel pretty much everything, but the base game is not fun enough for the player to even want to figure those out so is that really the player/reviewer's fault and even if you do figure it out wanted:dead still feels like an undercooked game with basic gunplay and basic sword combat

this game is basically Ghost Recon Future Soldier mixed with Ninja Gaiden. and is worse than both of those either separate or combined.

God that character design. I wanna slap this art director so bad. You can't pull nonsense like this anymore if you don't actually have an intended effect in mind and this is just scattershot bullcrap that clashes with the mundane surroundings and overall aesthetic.
That said, this is definitely one of those weird games I'd love to be able to play on a modern system that people actually own.
Too bad you're not a fan of Itagaki's work. Would be interesting to see what you'd think of the Bayonetta games, considering they can be very hard themselves.
Nope, Bayonetta 1 was directed by Hideki Kamiya and both Bayo games have been developed by Platinum Games. Itagaki worked on Ninja Gaiden over at Tecmo Koei instead.
He put them on his tier list of action games, so I'm pretty sure he's played them. I'd like a video on them though. ^^

Ivan looks like he could have been a cool character if the game wasn't such shit. It reminds me of Asura's Wrath when the debut trailed dropped, it looked AMAZING. Asura was an awesome character design. And the game is ASS.

@@dakotadoll6534 I don't remember when I even commented that, but basically what I do mean is that the artwork and world inside the game is still likeable. I had personally extracted some of the assets myself, and played around with the main characters model for a game.
No matter what it is there was time and money spent to at least put some effort into most of it.
I'd buy a Nintendo Switch port of Devils Third.
Mainstream critics are hacks. Check out the terrible reviews frauds like IGN gave to Terminator Resistance lol.
