PridedWaif I’d say the closest to Credo in 5 (other than Vergil obviously) is Cavalier Angelo. That fight actually kicks ass.

I think it's very poignant that it's LADY who tells Nero that he'd never recover from killing his father, it shows that at least 2 decades later she still hasn't quite recovered from killing her father Arkham and knows what Nero is going through at that moment. DMC5 is a true culmination of everything DMC related, and even lines that sound generic out of context have weight once the context is added.
I thought it was because Lady saw what happened to Dante and how he was upset after he “killed” Vergil in DMC 1

@@m.thorton9305 There's also factor on dedication tied to the theme of family, not to mention that technical, cultural, social, experience and craftsmanship by the Itsuno's team along with the fandom has led to the culmination on the Theme perfectly in a decade wait for the game
While they didn't put bosses into the void, we got a "sort of" version of that with bloody palace. All the floors are static, and you can practice individual floors at will, so you can sort of fight all the bosses with any character at any time.
I say sort of cause it doesn't offer the same advantages the void does for training, and some of the bosses difficulty is ramped up cause they appear later on in the palace. IDK, its still nice to be able to go in and practice parrying Cavaliere pretty much at will. While limited, I don't really know of any other game that allows something like that.
DMC2 and onwards all have Bloody Palace, it's no new feature.
@@yakuzashibe But no bloody palace prior to 5 allowed you to go an individual floor and practice. You had to go up the hard way in 4, and 3 and 2 were like, 1000 floors and semi random so there'd be no point.

No joke I had no idea what Xavier Renegade Angel was and hadn't played the game so I thought those were all V's lines and that was how he sounded
V's familiars despawn and spawn beside you exactly because you're too far. Along with the book it incentivizes players to actually stay close to enemies.
What I like is that they took everything great from DmC : the training mode, the slow motion during last hit
I first learned of the original Devil may Cry games when i played the DmC reboot, and later, i got the first four games for my birthday, the HD collection of 1-3 and DMC4 on its own. I was not at all familiar with any of the story, but after playing through all of them for the first time, i completely fell in love with this franchise. While i still enjoyed the reboot, it will never be held up to such standards as the main franchise, especially because a sequel to the reboot doesn't look very likely, at least for right now.
Scottie Moseley quick question. Are the first 2 even worth playing? So many people have recommended me to jump straight in from 3 to 4 but I’m one of those guys that never skips games so I can get the full scope of the story. What are your thoughts?

@@rolan5948 1 is a masterpiece and imo the most tightly designed for what it is. I say that because it's more Ninja Gaiden than current DMC so I won't judge it the same way. It's not very expressive, but still very varied because of its use of many unique enemies. Only one type of enemy can appear in each fight making it easy to grasp but still challenging and fun. There's one technique for cancelling the knockaway of a 3 hit sword combo and only one use for the jump cancel worth it but it's still good.
If you don't want 3 to 5 to give you bias going in just play NG black before you start. 4 is my favourite though. The diversity of opinions surrounding which is better of 3 games is probably a good thing.

Yeah, DmC: Devil May Cry was my favorite until DMC5 came out. But I enjoyed all of the games when they dropped. (Though I honestly can't play DMC1 anymore because *to me,* it didn't age well enough for me to enjoy these days.)

As for max exceed I don't know.
You're half right.
It's still just as difficult to get the prefect timing, however a slightly-off-perfect timing still mitigates all damage at the cost of using 1 bar of your Devil Trigger.
As for exceed same system, the perfect Max Act is still as difficult as it would be in DMC4, but there is also a slightly-off-perfect timing that still generates some exceed gauge.
They want to encourage players to try and still reward them with something, even if it's small for attempting moves with strict timings.

I kind of find it a shame that they aren't planning on adding additional content for the game. Matt Walker tweeted out how they stopped the development of DMC 5, only hoping that the "higher ups" can give the green light to add additional content again. That doesn't mean it stopped forever; there is always a chance they are allowed to add more content.

Also, Shadow does have a Combo C. The thing about V is that you have to keep the right distance to properly control your familiars. If they are despawning it's because you should be closer.

I've played the series since DMC1 was new and DMC5 was everything I had hoped for.
18:35 you could also say that he could only get more power by having the help of those you care for. I mean, him having literally been given a hand from his friend Nico shows that, in moments of weakness, we rely on those around us. Him getting his arm back the way it was supposed to be after having been given help could be a testament to how we people need help to get to our greatest versions of ourselves.

Hey Cvit, I got into DMC at the end of last year because of your intial video on why you should play DMC and just finished DMC 5 today and finally got around to watching this video to save myself from spoilers. Getting into the series has been easily one of the highlights for my video gaming experience and I finally understand why people hold everything about DMC espcially its cast so close to thier heart because I do so now as well. Basically thank you for pouring out your heart so I can now torment my friends into listening to Crimson cloud and Devil Trigger over and over again.

Game for sure exceeded my expectations.Vergil also seems to have taken on some of the character growth V gained over the course of the game and I was fully expecting them to kill Vergil off in the game with them promoting it as the end of the sons of sparda saga.Tho hopefully with Vergil still being alive and seemingly showing signs of growing when DMC6 comes out he will get his own campaign.Also pretty sure that next game itsuno is working on is Dragons Dogma 2
Being a fan since dmc1 and playing this gives me hope that video games still have a future. Youre not lying when you say this game is so close to perfect. Literally only thing i would like to see is to be able to switch between arms other than that all my other games are on hold for this lol
I only played it so far for the first 2 missions, and yeah, my expectations are far exceeded! They somehow made Nero more fun to play as, the battle theme is amazing, it made me suffer graphical overload, and mission 2 has best first boss in a Devil May Cry game!

Honestly, my favorite boss. He’s not reeeeeally gimmicky, I mean sure, he teleports, but you can parry & stagger him, break his guard for combo windows, you can practice Royal Guard with him, honestly, I LOVE experimenting with that fight. I’ve tried Cavaliere only, Royal Guard only, DSD & RG only, and so on.
And don’t get me started on Voltaic Black Knight, hooooooly shit... an absolute banger of a boss theme, the DMC1 remixes, Silver Bullet, those are fucking great, but Voltaic Black Knight is more my thing tbh. The theme also feels “dynamic”, having the song get even better the more you knock Cavaliere Angelo’s health down, fuuuuck man..
Plus, Dante knowing it’s Trish is hilarious, especially when you remember their very first interaction.. was her throwing a motorcycle at Dante.
I play Mission 11 constantly, CONSTANTLY, JUST for the Cavaliere Angelo fight.
Also, definitely my favorite game since NieR:Automata. And that set a pretty high bar for me
When Lady tried to sway Nero away from killing Vergil, you could HEAR the true feelings of regret in her voice.
No matter how fucked up a person has been, especially your own family- put yourself in Lady's position. She practically forced herself to feel like ending her father's ambitions was her soul's one and only desire, desperately trying not to associate her emotions with what she knows is the right thing to do.
If Nero had killed Vergil after JUST finding out he was his father, the emotions would definitely catch up to him. He'd either drive himself mad, or his emotions would leave him extremely unstable.

I mean it does a good job at selling the game for sure, however I’d liked to hear more about how it could’ve been improved in some aspects. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely know it to be a good game as I own the deluxe edition and was my game of the year. I just want to hear the other side of things to get a better perspective of this game’s faults explained through others.
I personally found the bosses in DMC1 to be tighter overall than any of the other games. Each one is repeated 3 times, sure, but that gives you opportunities to experience slightly varied movesets and boss arenas.
It's a case of quality over quantity for me.
Not a single boss in DMC1 is better than the other Vergil encounters in DMC3 and 5, though, but taken as a lineup, they're my favourites.

It’s been 3 years and that but with V as Xavier Renegade Angel still cracks me up.
I haven't played a dmc game for about 5 years so when i got to the chapter 19 Vergil fight he straight up kicked my ass out of 2 gold orbs haha. Gunna be tough beating SOS without any orb revives, but it will be fun as hell.
