    I like the handles. I LOVE the wrought iron look with the old wood. Just a thought, I would clean the steel either before cutting it up or immediately after. It'so much easier to clean before it's bent.

    Those came out great! That triangle idea is ingenious!

      BCdesign thanks. i couldn't make the bends all match without a guide. when i realized the angles were all 45 degrees, it made it simple to create a template. i'll use that trick again for sure!

    Those handles look great Tim. I don't think you would have got the same look with store bought ones.

      Moy perez woodshop thanks. i've seen a lot of very nice hardware in stores, but it gets pricey, too. these handles were about 2$ in steel and only an hour of work.

    Your CUSTOMER! has got herself a very nice, bespoke piece of furniture there, I will be stealing the tip of using a 45x90 offcut to bend the steel so that all the handles have similar angles. Thanks for showing this amazing piece Tim. N.

    Whenever I build something like this and I want the hardware to look old, hardware like the screws you used on the pulls or even something like cheap Stanley butt hinges, I just get them red hot with my mapp torch and it gives them a nice black-platinum color.

    • @timsway
      @timsway  Před 9 lety

      David ODell great idea. get that blue/purpleish color.

    what are the dimensions on these? (What are the lengths you marked out at the start) Furthermore, what are the dimensions of the wooden jig/cutout that you used to bend the handles?

    • @timsway
      @timsway  Před rokem

      it doesn't matter, you can make them any size you want that looks right for your project, y'know? If you're fitting them to a preexisting cabinet, just measure the holes in the drawer and make fit it to those.

    simple indeed but when u need to make lots you will see yourself spending more time makimg a bender that actuali making the bends by hand, its not like it hapend to me or something....beautiful reclaim, more space between doors will let you sapce for the routered handles so popular this days, not sure if people dont whant to pay for handles anymore.. funkyng economy.

    • @timsway
      @timsway  Před 8 lety

      +Jesus Diaz yes. absolutely. if i had to make 100 this would not be the most efficient way. i like handles better than routed slots, personally, but i don;t like buying them ;-) thanks for watching

      @@timsway Thanks. I figured it must have been thinner material with how easy it looked like you bent it.
