I learned at 16 that if I wasn’t hard on myself, nothing would get done. I carried that up to ALWAYS being hard on myself for no reason at all. Trying to fit into someone else’s frame; now that I’m older, I know that’s not the picture I want to be in. I live for myself now and don’t compare to those that are “living it up”.
Im currently in a funk right now....but between my kid and faith Im slowly pulling myself out of it.

Bill has some tremendous motivational segments. Definitely worth checking out. The guy trolls himself a lot and rates himself an idiot consistently, but his perspective and outlook on things is sharp as hell.
Last summer was really tough and I found a vid of his called "Bill Burr | Take A Chance" that lit a fire under me to not sink into the funk I was at the time. Definitely worth checking out if you're curious about these things.
Also, kudos on being a good reaction channel. I get recommendations to watch a lot of Burr & Carlin, but I usually overlook them since most people's idea of reacting is just playing the video with the soundtrack of them giggling and adding nothing to it. The fact you paused the video and jammed with it giving your thoughts is something I appreciate when the youtube reacting world is so damn gimmicky.

In the past, people worked basically all day every day except maybe Sunday in certain places just to live in a crappy hut with a straw mattress and hoped they harvested enough crops to make it through the year. Now we have options, but if you want stuff you still gotta make the money to pay for it and for most people that will be working hard for years in order to pay off your house, secure your kids education, etc. It's not hard or bad either if you have a love for the work you do and take it seriously. I'd rather be doing that than playing video games all day, but maybe I'm just old.
I think your grandma had great advice, it even applies to art as well! It's better to get it started and fix it, than to be indecisive and never start at all

I’m 21 and currently in college for my associates and I feel for this guy who sent this email bc Im hard on myself in a sense that if I don’t succeed, that I’ll disappoint my family who have helped me to get to this part in my life. Straight up, it's probably better for most kids to skip college and work. Save up 4 years of income and be in a position to start your own business. Most times you'd be in a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better position then all the kids who took on a mountain of debt to get a degree that isn't worth the cover price and that'll take decades to pay back.
