Poland is located in central Europe.
Polish operators used to be trained by units from UK and USA. As Polish experience and skill set continued to grow - the roles are now reversed, Polish are now the "trainers - teachers - instructors". One thing however which makes the Polish unit special is their attitude "nothing is impossible" - that makes them stand out. Also you don't hear about them much, possibly due to obvious secrecy of missions/tasks, but also due to Polish modesty. Action means more than words. 👏👏👏
Thunder is good, but we also have Formosa here. These are special troops of the Navy. They captured the drilling tower and the port of Umm Quasyr without losses on the Polish and Iraqi sides. They didn't kill anyone

Special operation group called FORMOZA is an equivalent of NAVY Seals working stricted on the sea operations. People don't know about them much but this is a good thing as I assume. GROM is a world's top knotch force. The Surgeons name came because they all have very high medical knowledge and skills, not only TC3. If You could even scream "Medic!" on the battlefield - You will be served.
All Polish special operations units have been under the same command since 2007, so none of the units fall under any specific branch of the military. This Command is also the fourth military branch of the Polish Armed Forces.

Poland has also created their new ‘Grot’ weapon system which can be customised for the operator by having a bullpup design, or changing the ammo from 5.56 to 7.62. All of this happened very recently. In fact, Poland can be Europes biggest superpower very soon due to their equipment and military size.
Yes . There are women in the GROM unit as well as in other Polish special units. Practically from the beginning of the existence of the units are. They must meet the same requirements as men.
Yes, they are Tier-1 unit.
The idea was that the unit would be able to perform tasks such as Navy SEALs, Delta or SAS. For this reason, selection, training, tactics and weapons are compatible or the same as those of these units. The weapons are not necessarily American, sometimes they are Finnish - they just have to be the best. The SEAL guys working with GROM in Iraq said that there was no difference between the training and skills of operators in both units. As for women in GROM - there are women operators, they are also in the auxiliary services ;).

Funny facts - GROM operators in Irak or Afganistan were envy by americans operators, cos they were allowed to drink.
