This whole series gives such a real perspective of what freelance professionals are actually doing. As a design student I haven't been able to see people doing freelance in such a neat way. I'm super inspired!🙌🏿

Love the way you put the website together. I've been looking forward this documentary since you first talked about it on Twitter. Thanks for doing this 🙌

Love what he said about being strategic with going freelance. It was setting a goal, road mapping it and hustling for a year to be able to make the switch. I think even if you dont go freelance, but want to regain some freedom (or what ever your goal may be), its a good reminder to plan where you want to be in a year, two years, five years down the road.
Thanks Dann for the great videos.

Thank you, Dan. I’ve really enjoyed your video. I’m working with my son and we’re looking for someone to design our website. I’m 79 years old and still actively involved in life and living. Please continue with your positive outlook. Blessings to you and your family. 😊 4:11

I can so very much relate to: ".. the person living in their mom's basement, coding until 3 in the morning eating cheetos and drinking mountain dew." This was me the first years as a freelancer back when I was 17-18 and I would happily call myself a freelancer then.
Now after a couple of years where I've gone back and forth between freelancing and working for startups and companies I took the leap to go full on business owner, starting out just like I did before on my own. But now I don't want to call myself a freelancer because my passion and vision for this is much bigger and more serious than when I was 17-18 years old.
Some people might still call themselves freelancers, and using the term "entrepreneur" pisses some people off because we don't own our own store or have investors. Personally I don't like labels but prefer to be open minded with certain morals and beliefs, but when it comes to my professional work I have yet to find a label that best describes what I do right now.

Liked the idea about planning well in advance before going full-time freelance. Tobias van Schneider has also talked about the same in some of his articles.
Yeah, that's definitely the way to go.

Great story, but I found the filming style to be very distracting. I really didn't like the profile angle that was used for large sections of the interview, but I'm assuming you used it so much because the main front shot was out of focus. Small things like nailing focus make a huge difference with these kind of videos.
