I sometimes wonder what the phasers would've looked like if the Enterprise had fired them during Star Trek: The Motion Picture. They had a different special effects team then, and I really liked how they made the torpedoes look in TMP.
Love the pulse phasers on the 23rd century Federation ships. Always hated whenever a Miranda-class or Excelsior-class showed up in TNG/DS9 and fired the standard mono-beam phaser typical of the arrays found on 24th century ships.
@@longWriter It doesn't make sense from a physical standpoint as those classes of ship still had the dual-phaser banks not the array-style found on 24th century ship. And yet every time one of those ships would fire phasers, a single beam would come out of them.

Any particular reason? I mean, it makes sense from a lore perspective that they'd upgrade the phaser banks of those older classes of ships.

you know what's funny? The USS Reliant from Wrath of Khan was the prototype for the model for the highly memed Miranda-class ship
