Do you apple RTV on both sides of the gasket? Which side?
Will these cause a check engine light? And will I have to get a tune after instal?
Where would I find the part number on these headers
SHM64HDRCAT
I have a leak around my cats by the clamps. My clamps are tight all the way but still leaks. Any suggestions to fixing that?
Ah, this is a common occurrence, Septien! A few quick points:
- Connection pipes from most manufacturers will have 4 slots spaced 90° apart, which allow for the pipe to properly compress under clamping.
- If this is the case with your connection pipes, remove the clamp, and apply silicone gasket maker along these slots on the pipe (note: NOT all the way around the circumference of the pipe, but only on the slots).
- Move the clamp back into position, and clocking it so that the clamp is fully covering all 4 slots.
- If the clamps are Stainless Works/Power, tighten to 45ftlbs.
That should do it!
