This is literally the holy Grail of putting. I just watched this practicing putting and I literally made 75% of my putts just simply lining up the way he explained

@@MeanMints5 it's about perception, if you line up your head slightly behind you'll have a much better putting path. Putt to spots rather than target's

@@MeanMints5 if the hole is in front of the golf ball (on a straight putt) your head ideally is slightly behind the ball so you can see the line better. As far as left & right aka inside & outside the ball/target line. You want to be either directly over the ball or slightly inside of it, never outside the target line. Every person has their own spot that matches up with their eyes, line a ball up perfectly and move to a point where it looks lined up correctly. For some people being directly over the ball makes it look lined up right or left and they do better being a little inside the target line with their eyes. On tour you’ll find players from directly over the ball to 9 inches inside of it (inside meaning towards the player, inside the ball). 🍻

Most people stand way too far from the ball on full swing and putting.
The tour average is anywhere from a half inch inside and behind the ball to 9 inches inside and behind the ball both ways. The big mistake everyone makes is getting their eyes outside the ball a.k.a. target line.
