Adam, I am just a weekend golfer and before watching your videos I could never break 100 mainly because putting was by far the weakest part of my game. After watching just a couple of your putting technique videos, it is now the strongest part of my game. I even rewarded myself and went out bought a new Bettinardi putter because I actually feel like a good putter now and I consistently break 90, sometimes 80. All of your other videos have been extremely helpful as well. Simple and straightforward but makes a HUGE difference. Thank you for providing such great help!

This was amazing! I have been seriously struggling recently with putting and chipping. I've tried multiple different set-up positions and nothing felt right. Pace control was awful. Then I had a tee time today and saw this video uploaded, watched it and had some time on the putting green before the round to implement the new style. Lo and behold, my putting was very solid - especially from within 10 feet - and for the first time ever I broke 80 :D Thanks for the help!!!

This simple technique helped me immensely. My putting technique always felt wrong and my results on the greens were indicative of this. But your technique immediately left me know that I was tilting my shoulders rather than turning them. I watched your video right before a round and putted so much better that day.

adam, thnx for the putting tips. one other thing that helps me is i take a good breath and blow it out and then feel and do the stroke, kinda helps me settle a bit cause i tend to hold my breath during the stroke and create tension.

Adam Bazalgette has one of the simplest and smoothest approaches to the game of golf. The only thing smoother might be his swing! His faith in the God given design of the human body and our ability to move, coordinate, and flow, translates into a very inspirational philosophy behind the swing and the game of golf. Thank you Adam for all of your teachings. It is always refreshing to hear your thoughts on the game and then take those ideas to the course!

Adam, great tips as usual. I’m about your height and structure. I believe most putters are too long for most players. Yours looks perfect for you. Can you post the length of the putter that works well for you.

My putting has greatly improved recently thanks to your videos. One issue that creeps in is slightly aiming left. Think it must be how I'm addressing the ball, it's giving me an off line

Been watching your videos for the last few months. You have helped this new golfer take the first steps in being a better, more consistent player. Appreciate you Adam. One question. Im a large player. 6'5 330 lbs. Is there anything different we can be doing as bigger people?

Not sure (without seeing you) that there would be a big difference in approach, but custom fit clubs would be a good idea.

Exactly right in my opinion. Trying to steer the putt with the hands can give the yips I should know. Would like to add dont forget the ball in perfecting the stroke and keep the feet completly still (cemented feet)

Adam is it a bad thing to hear the ball skidding on the green on longer Putts? Is that hitting down on the ball? Thanks for all of your videos. You are the best teacher in my book.

    • @Scratchgolfacademy
      @Scratchgolfacademy  Před 3 lety +1

Thanks very much. Ideally the ball launches into the air a bit (putter has loft), but it's subtle. After landing it rolls out. You might be hitting down too much.

Great video. Please do a video sometime on correctly starting your ball on its intended line. Sounds silly but sometimes my eyes fool me into thinking I’m lined properly, then the ball starts off left or right of my intended line.

Thanks for that Adam, I went through 5 years of yips and changed my grip a few times, the pencil grip seems to be the one that's helped me the most, my main problem is that I'm short 90% of the time, how can I convince my brain to get the ball to the hole? I'm always dead centre but short and if I try to hit it firmer I'll either pull or push the putt.

I was going to mention Leadbetter 😂 Ever since that Leadbetter/Faldo video I have putted like this but that video used to have Faldo brushing up on the ball to cause topspin. It’s always worked surprisingly well for me with me being a better putter than I would have expected. But I also add the feeling of standing tall and pivoting around the back of my neck, which keeps me still and also gives me some extra feel based on the flex of the putter shaft. The faster the green, the taller I will try to be. Still use a TPA putter like Faldo used, which is good as I can’t blame any poor putting on it as it seemed to work pretty well for him. Super cheap second hand - who needs to spend a fortune on a Scotty Cameron copy?

Adam, I find it hard to close my putter face in follow through. Is it ok to put ball a bit forward in the stance. That way i will hit on the up and more likely to close putter face. Thanks to advise.

I wear glasses and I usually have trouble reading the greens because I have a stigma in my right eye. Should I read the green with my left eye only even though I'm right eye dominant?

Take less time over the ball. Use your normal preshot routine, then line it up, take one look at the cup, then start your stroke right when you look at the ball again. More reactionary and less time for your brain to get in the way

@@tennybear6782 - will try, thanks. I do much better on longer putts: no tension, natural stroke… it’s those short ones I get timid and steery about. I need to get more committed to the read/line, for sure.
