- We could watch Tiger Woods hit wedge shots all. day. long. We asked the 15-time Major winner and Masters champ Fred Couples how they like to hit a 50-yard pitch shot with their Bridgestone golf ball - some absolute gold packed in to just a few minutes.

Should play the back ground music a little louder, I can still hear them talking.
Yeah really!!!!😎⛳️🏌️♂️
They should also point the camera closer to the flag and lower to the ground, I do not want to see the ball flight.
They really have some clueless people working these youtube videos.
🤣😛
I could hear and see everything fine, ya'll boomers gotta chill lmao
Tiger: 100 different types of pitch shot mastered.
Me: 1 type of pitch shot still under construction.
A lot of that is most of the time we have not decided what shot we a re trying to hit and then hitting it, we don't know what shot we are trying to do and they try to do 5 different shots at once.
Well, he is the 🐐 sooooo lol
Just chug a beer and hit the ball. Geez. None of us will ever be tiger woods. Calm down folks.. remember when we first started playing. It was fun and is still supposed to be fun
I am not afraid of the man with 1000 different kicks. I’m afraid of the man who has one kick and practiced it 1000 times. Tiger would have beat Bruce Lee down though.
@@krusher74Because people just hit and hope it at the pin, sometimes it's good sometimes it's off the green.
There's no real thought because they don't believe they can control the ball!
We get to watch two legends give us a 3 minute masterclass that they spent their life perfecting. What a time to be alive, appreciate this!

2 of the best of all time giving a masterclass.
Editors: “let’s blast some music for the 8 year olds with no attention span”
This isn’t cocomelon, guys. These are PGA pros. Have some respect for your audience and let us hear them, not music.
This show should be renamed as "Couples Therapy."
Ooooooooo
Nice
Brilliant
BWWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA🤣🤣🤣
So bad yet good
I also have 4 shot shapes from 50 yards : chunk, top, shank and 20 yds short with no spin
I have mastered those shots too. 🤣🤣🤣
Love that Tiger still remembers tips from his dad. My son is quite right to ignore my tips 😂
Tigers Dad was his golf mentor and best friend.
@@jthompson133that one flew right over your head didn’t it bud
“Millions upon millions of reps”…reminds me of the Ben Hogan saying “if you want to know what’s wrong with your swing, hit a million balls”
It only takes me 1 ball to know what is wrong with my swing.😅
Tiger's milled putter has a wear spot. So I'm guessing yes, over a million reps.
Was curious about the “millions” figure. I think Tiger has said he aims for 1,000 good “touches” a day (can be a putt, chip, wedge, full iron, drive etc - they all count). 1,000 balls a day times 365 times 40 years is 14.6 million balls. SHEESH.
@@golfpug That's crazy. But my swing has completely fallen apart after months off and new clubs so I don't doubt it. There's hope lol
@@lkae4It really is impressive. I saw a photo of an 8 iron out of an older set of Tiger’s gamer irons and the wear spot on that 8 iron was the size of a quarter. A lot of reps for sure
This is actually insane to watch, every shot he hit is called and does exactly what he said.
On a REALLY GOOD day I can call the shot I want to hit, and pull it off. And then I get lucky, and hit it just right.
Tiger hits 7 or 8 different shots that he can hit to that green, and have a make-able putt left. I was surprised he didn't hole one of those shots! He's still the best golfer on the planet!
Maybe he should call every shot he plays again and get some more wins😎👏
@@jbplays7302No, he's not. Come on. Scottie Scheffler is obviously much better at this point.
What else would you expect?
15 majors, 82 PGA wins.
All I can say is I’m so happy that I got to watch Tiger on TV for his whole career. What an honor to watch a master.
Yup, he is truly a shooting star, complete package of a player
Agreed 100%.. he made the game cool. Everyones swing now looks the same because of tiger.. he was the blueprint for how to swing efficiently and effectively.
I agree, we were spoiled. Right from when he was winning the US ams...
Tiger had all the shots. A true master
I was fortunate to see him live many times. I know he hasn’t won the most majors but he is truly the GOAT. So many hours glued the boob tube when he was playing. A true treat!
If there was ever another gift Tiger could give, it would be more videos like this. This is amazing to watch!
The best 3.5 minutes I've spent on YT in ages.
I think this is way too much info for the average golfer which can just be confusing. We have a hard enough time getting close with one method and then only if it's not windy
1 to 12 handicappers can learn things from this vid though. Any higher, then yeah...no point. @@ikigai47
I've played at a pretty good club golfer level for about 40 years, and even when I was playing scratch golf, I simply could never imagine having such control over every aspect of the shaft and face and strike to even contemplate what Woods is describing here. I mean drawing / fading a 50 yarder with a wedge! And then applying side spin in such a way to account for the nap of the green? Its incredible.
Exactly. I’m about a 3 handicap and thought, how do you hit a draw from 50 yards with a wedge? I never even thought about trying to curve a ball from that distance! Not sure if I could generate enough spin to either!
And then executing to perfection on every single shot. Dude isn't human.
Absolutely incredible. I've played this game for 40+ years and had no idea these shots could be played this way. Absolutely incredible.
Because it's Tiger Woods. He can control the club face, we can't
That was brilliant to listen to and watch! His dispersion around the pin was just ridiculously good as well!👏
Boom Boom and Tiger in the same video? I can die a happy man.
Bam Bam*
The face is open for a draw and shut for a cut - my head just exploded!
Remember that the ball starts where your club is facing. So since you’re hitting a draw you need the ball to start to the right of your target. The swing path being further in to out of your start line is what puts the draw spin on it.
@@mrjamesgrimes Is this the same principle for long(er) irons? Because the only way I have ever generated a draw with say my 5-7 iron, is by closing the face - vice versa for a fade. Does the amount of compression exerted into the ball make a difference? On a full swing long iron, the ball is squeezed against the club more than a glancing blow of a partial wedge shot?
@@introaether937 it’s physics…it will never not be true. Yes compression and swing speed play a factor but that’s getting into the weeds. Start like is about 85% determined by club face. What you need to understand is the club is open to your target but closed to your swing path for a push draw. If (at impact) the club was closed to your target and path then it would start left and go further left. A pull hook.
@@mrjamesgrimes Thanks for the detailed explanation. This explains my regular pull hooks when attempting the draw.
I first leaned from Shawn Clement, and (unless I have completely gotten the wrong end of the stick), he taught to swing to the start line and put face to the end target.
Different swing feels, same end result. Beautiful to watch. I love being able to say, I lived in the era of the greatest golfer of all time. Zero weaknesses. Tiger could play every shot, and many that others couldn't. Masterful putter. Mentally as tough as titanium. Never scared of any shot. Total belief in himself. The TOTAL package on the course.
Superb! Let’s see more of Fred and Tiger
Man, fred couples always chills me out
Tiger and Fred does it get much better . So may ways to fo it from Tiger . Us mere mortals just try and get on the green . What a technical lesson love it
Even more amazing is he can hit those shots with the music playing!
Why the music!!!!
Exactly!!
You know how bad you are when you see tiger shooting cuts and draws pitch shots from 50 yard and all within 5 feet 😄
And those arms, they have the size of my legs 😯
Don't compare yourself to pros that play 8 h/day since they are 2 yo...
Wow just awesome to watch this and listening to him explain how he sees and does it!
so far above my pay grade. i love how tiger just goes all out for a legend like freddy
Man I could watch these two for hours!! I’d pay for it! So much knowledge
Through watching this a complete noob i went to a site to learn the terms then came back to this same video; I loved it the first time i watched it and still had that aww struck face after learning the lingo. Pure Masterclass!
One word.. Amazing!!!
My FAVORITE 2 Golfers of ALL TIME...together in one video... LOVE IT!
The GOAT and Freddy, can't get better than that!!! Freddy'a Swing is so is/was so smooth!
The GOAT!?!? Jack Nicklaus wasn't there
Couples swing had to be smooth to counteract his poor technique
It's wild to see the consistency. True athlete.
It’s crazy to watch him execute each shot with precision
these guys are unreal...how good!!!
always great video with the GOAT
Great advice, thank you!
2 of my favorite golfers ever. Tiger has such a great short game.
The skill level of tour pros is off the charts already and then when you get to the best players of all time, it's other worldly. I can't even fathom how much skill and dedication it takes to be able to play these types of shots on demand. It's not just practice. I could practice all day every day and i couldn't do that.
Wow crazy accurate, makes it look so easy.
Wow what a treat this is great to see Fred and Tiger respectfully together!
Wow. So impressive. Each shot result as called. Like magic. The guy still has the touch.
He’s so damn good 😅😂💀
Tiger, when you get a minute, I am available at my local public course for a 9 hole play off, look forward to seeing you there, Jamie (UK).
He went and you didn't turn up
@@mrsandhu19801 I saw him there as well, he was warming up for 2 hours to get ready for the match. Pity you didn't show, would have been one for the ages.

Crazy good.
Tiger could do a 100 part movie on every club in the bag. Nobody gonna touch that skill level maybe ever.👍
The key? “Millions upon millions of reps.”
From what I've read, it didn't matter if it was sunny out, windy, pouring rain, etc. Tiger wanted to know exactly how to hit any shot under any condition. That's GOAT mentality.
that and 1% of 1% of 1% (= 1 in 1 million) genetics
im sure you personally know folks that have really dedicated themselves to trying to become a scratch golfer and really put in the countless hours grinding daily coaches practice practice and peaked nowhere close. genetics are a ceiling for everybody, most people just never come close
@@davidbrackney289 that's what happen when you have a abusive father hammering at you every minute, you also get into pills and hookers.
@@archsys307 I’ve seen people get to scratch, but those guts are not scratch. They are like plus 6 and 7. An astronomical difference between scratch and pros. But I get your meaning.
@@scottsmith6871 yep, theres an astronomical difference, scratch is basically only top 1%, but its already at the point where theres plenty of people who have tried the 10000 rule and failed to come close to scratch-couple years in theyre at 5 and several years later still at 4, thats peaking
Brilliant, Garrett! :)
Best part of the video, "My Dad would say", unreal. He carries daddy with him no matter where he goes. #goat

Tiger embarrassed himself today, like I told ya he would, he played disgraceful golf today, he needs to retire
The sound of every one of those off the clubface. Crisp
This is Priceless - wish i had this when i was growing up (we didn't have youtube back then). I hit a perfect draw once on a Par 4 curved round a dog-leg but i didnt even know what i was doing.. it just came off. 🤣.... i wish i had took golf more seriously
Looks like Freddie is pitching a tent
Epic Brilliance
Him moving the ball closer or farther from him causing it to affect the lie angle for said shot is genius.
Every ball Tiger plays, lies in complete submission. Just amazing.
No diddy
I've seen Tiger win numerous events, but my once I stood next to Freddy Boom Boom Couples hit a driver, I realized I was playing a different game. Love both these guys.
That's some God level stuff!
Amazing control of a golf ball, Tiger if you need a four all partner I'm your man 😂
“Millions and millions of reps”…..got that? Don’t talk to me about God given gifts, or natural talent….he got to where he is by blood, sweat and tears!
The talent was also there. But the saying goes that hard work trumps talent when talent doesn't work hard.
Quite an exaggeration but the point is taken. The old axiom of 'practice makes perfect' lends true to Golf
You always need Talent, its when you but in the blod, sweat and tears you can become a top class like the GOAT
It’s just genius. And hard work!
I was dying to see Fred hit too…bummer. Tiger is a damn wizard though!
Like child's play for Tiger, plenty of reps.
Wow, that dude called Bridgestone Golf and PGA Tour Superstore looks exactly like Tiger Woods
Tiger is hammered 😂
I could watch these guys hit all day!!!!!!
The face angles at address for the different curvatures is what the old guys were telling me 50 years ago when I started. Tiger has tremendous knowledge of both old school and new.
2 legends
Phenomenal!
Incredible video, for my nemesis shot.
I see you two!!!😂😂❤❤❤
This is very very helpful. I can see what I'm doing wrong.
Tiger is the most gifted golfer of all time, he has all the shots and is excellent in every category. Nicklaus may have more majors but he definitely didn't possess the talent Tiger has. ⛳🐯
Jeez , Tiger’s last hook shot ,,pure magic
And here i am still stuggling with consistent contact
Sometimes a really good player explains what they're about to do and you don't even see the difference in their movements, but with Tiger here you can clearly see how different the mechanics of each of those different swings were and how it impacted the outcome. Unreal
I didn't know you could produce those shots from 50 yds. I'm happy to hit straight and land on the green. Amazing.
His skill to aggressively draw or cut it at 50 yards at various flight levels is amazing!
Tiger is a wonderful coach - his book “How I play golf” is so under rated
I’ll do that hook left hook shot next time I’m playing Augusta 😳
Filmed on 18 of the cape club in palm city, I love the course
Master of his craft. Amazing.
Tiger is a master, at finishing LAST in the Masters
@@Whatt787 his body is destroyed, just like Freddie their bodies don’t hold up four 18 hole rounds…
Love ya Freddy!
I was just at the chipping green practicing from 5 hard off the green and my grouping wasn't this tight 😢
Pretty funny. This is basically Tiger Woods teaching other PGAtour caliber wedge players how they can add some variety to their wedge game. If my dad (a 20-handicap) watches this, not gonna understand a word Tiger is saying. Still though, awesome video. (It's basically Tiger giving Freddy a lesson)
Lol i like how he just casually makes two tiny adjustments and just perfectly hooks it in there...i could make those simple adjustments and the ball should off the hosel
