Thanks for the clear video, forums for a Harley noob can be a bit varied in opinion. My biggest concern is longevity of the bike, I will definitely be taking a similar route to you with the stage 1, but I think I'll do the fitting myself. Jake 1200 , if you are concerned about longevity, don't worry. I have an '01 Sportster that I bought new and I'm still riding it with 87,000 miles on it. I have had no issues at all with the engine or transmission, or clutch. I did have to replace the fork seals about three years ago. Also, I replaced the drive belt once. And that's it, the bike has been very reliable and trouble free.
I have a 2015 Iron and when I installed my fp3, it didn't ask me what kind of high flow air cleaner I have. It just asked me what kind of exhaust I had with a high flow air cleaner. Sounds great. I have the V$H Short Shots also. RIDE SAFE!

10% more power? The quote I have heard is more like 5%. That being said, My Harley (the same model as yours) puts out somewhere around 60 HP. 5% more is 63 HP. 10% more is 66 HP. That is a lot of work and money for such a modest performance upgrade, isn't it?

It's "cheaper" on a carb harley. The Dyno jet kit costs £80 and fitted at a garage, will be about £150. Plus, one can always change the entire carb for a Mikuni for like £350, giving it better throttle response.

K Scott hi mate, I went on amazon and just ordered a 'tyre whitening pen stick'... you can get them on eBay as well. I warn you though it's a bit of a hassle, you literally have to lie on your back and 'draw' with the pen onto the 'Harley Davidson' logo on the tyre. The pen itself is a bit like a tip ex pen, it just gives you a tiny bit of white. Then you simply let it dry and boom......cheap as chips mod that really changed the look of the bike. Ride safe, jack.
Unless your bike is still under warranty, then you can only do the screaming seagulls parts and only have Harley put it on. If you want to keep your warranty?
I haven't done mine just yet, but everything I've been told is that you can do the work yourself, but you have to use an HD tuner and take it to HD for the tune to keep the warranty.
@@jacobwhite3128 Yeah, the HD tuner still leaves the bike running lean due to EPA restrictions. Anything Harley sells HAS TO be within epa regs or they get a massive, MASSIVE, fine from Uncle Sam. I went through DK customs and put a high flow breather, breather bolts , and these xl-vied devices on my iron 883 in place of the $500 tuner, and the vied devices won’t void any warranties because they don’t alter the bikes “tune” they enrich the air/fuel mixture outside of the actual tune in the ECM. I did all that for about $300 and my iron runs soooo much better now! It’s literally like a different bike. I can’t recommend DK customs enough! They are wizards when it comes to your Harley Davidson! I won’t go anywhere else for performance parts anymore.
Sportster Custom has been with the big fat front tire since 2011. Sportster 48 had this first (the big front 130 tire) when the model launched 2010. All other Sportster have had slim tyres, the Superlow and Superlow T have a 120, and the others as the Iron and or Nightsrer have a 100, and the 72 has a slimish 90 - 21 inch.
@@David-og7di i did a 180 and 45 from cvp performance and a Arlen Ness stage 1 air filter was a little tricky I had to drill in the filter for my oil breathing system other than that the bike runs great it does feel like it has more power very happy I did it

Yep, a 1200cc should have 60kw at least however they under cam and suffocate as mentioned.

I have a cv carb can i just rejet
JT 1200 you can rejet it if you are installing performance air filter. More air in equals a need for more fuel/rejet otherwise it will burn too lean.
