- Hey! We're back, still getting old junkers to run just for the hell of it. This time it's a 1953 Ford and the fabulous flathead V8! Looks like we've got it running well enough to try to take Stella for a ride around the farmyard here...
We didn't have to buy any new parts this time, so that's a success when the budget is zero. The fancy distributor machine sure saved some messing around, too.
I sure like the sound of this old V8; good thing too because it's loud as hell since the muffler rotted away many years ago. I was pretty happy to see the Ford fire up after sitting for decades, neglected out back in the trees. This nice, untouched car could definitely be saved and is worth doing; it will need welding to the floors and rockers, etc, but overall pretty good for a car nearing senior's-discount age...
I hope you enjoy the sights and sounds of the legendary flattie as we rip around the yard a bit... no brakes on this unit so we're staying off the streets for now, haha.
Thanks again to everyone who subscribed to our little channel, and for all of your "likes" and comments. I read all of them and really appreciate that anyone would take the time to fire us a note.
All the best from all of the Agents and me and my girl Stella! More on the way soon...

Had a 53 Ford just like that one in 63 only 10 years old at the time it was a great 3 speed over drive I was home on leave in November 1963 getting the Ford ready for a paint job listening to the radio heard that our president was shoot in Dallas will never forget that day
The inaugural SOS from Tom to close it out!... Here's to great cars and great neighbors🍻
I am really enjoying the Flat head V8 running again. This set has been great fun! And its great seeing Stella go with you for a ride! Keep Up the good work, every night I go here to see what is new! Thanks for the fun of seeing these old cars be saved and run. BE WELL!
Hey, thanks for the note, and for watching this stuff... I'll try to keep them coming... Cheers!
My first car was a 1953 Ford Customline , in 1966. Before I die, I'd like to drive one of these again! Love this story!
man that thing still sounds amazing. youtube re-suggested it to me haha. In the realm of pure auditory bliss the Ford Flathead V8 knows no rival.
Nice to see it come back to life. The motor when rebuilt is probably worth more than the car as there's always a demand for flatheads out there.
I like what appears to be a 1952-54 Nash you have there. Cool !
Back in 1964-65 our neighbor's son, then 17-18 had one of these Fords. After driving it for a year he left for the Army and sold it for $75 but I was too young for a license just yet. Dang !!
Sweet car and exquisite flathead sounds.
In a world filled with lunacy, I come here for refuge. No matter what is going on in my tiny world, I come here and my grin grows exponentially. Thank you for doing what you do and sharing it with us all.
Hey, thanks for watching this stuff and making it worth doing, cheers!
Pha Q I come for the Cat and dog
👍👍
awesome!! Not a big Ford guy but you can't beat the sound of a flat head Ford and anything old is cool in my book!! great job
That Ford sounds the business.
I've just discovered you guys. Thanks for keeping these cars from being crushed. I love this Ford, I used to have a 1953 Ford Mainline until someone stole it. Wish I was closer to you.
Hey, thanks for the note and for checking out the vids! Glad you liked the old Ford... Cheers from me and Stel!
Great job keeping the old iron from the crusher and getting them running again.
And hat's off to Stella for keeping her figure despite all the treats she consumes!
Hey, thanks for the note and hi from my girl Stel...
This one needs to be crowned the " Moonshiner" Regards from Ody Slim
it reminds me of my dad's 56 mercury . he really loved that car
I especially like the IV drip of Canadian gas. Its a runner!
Wow what a sweetheart , l grew up riding in these cars, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling,
I never get sick of this stuff guys....it just never gets old. Stel might need a 12 step program for that " habit " of hers HAAA! Have a good guys.
LOVE it. That looks pretty darn solid. Tidy up the interior and you have a daily drive,.
Love the IV gas tank ! LOL!
Great series!......ah yes, the working man's car. The kind of car Ward Cleaver would drive home Friday evenings from the legion, after 7 too many, recounting his days as a Seabee on Guadalcanal............excellent work - long may they run!
Hey, thanks for the note; glad you liked it. More "Leave it to Beaver Beaters" coming soon...
"What's it going to take to get you into this machine today?" LOL (7:24). Also, I love how you rigged that IV gas line, hooking it to the antenna above the windshield.
driving between the snowdrifts on an oil rig service road, dark, cold , 70 miles to home in a blizzard with two packs of smokes and 12 oz of whiskey to go on. Hank on the radio singing cold cold heart. Ah for the good old days......
Sounds about right sir; all the best from us here at CWMC.
Reminds me of a couple of cars bought by a friend of mine at 0 Over 999 Sales back then. He drove them till they quit, and took the plates off. Went back and bought another one..or two...
My neighbor had a 53 with the flat head V8 and 3 on the tree, pink with a white roof. He let it sit, outside, all winter long but come summer, he would put the battery back in, and fire it up. 1 fall, an ice storm brought a tree limb down on it; severely dented the roof, but broke no glass. It was a very neat car, sounded good with glasspacks. Oh yes, btw, the hub cap is from a 69 Plymouth Fury III or VIP. I had a green sedan, same 1's.
I liked the part about "what's it gonna take to get you into this vehicle today?" He should have answered, "I'll have to ask my parents about my allowance first"
2 tone green ! ! ? What strength is that beer ? No but really, love the the girl, she deserves to stay alive now.
true man made beauty, last year of the flathead.. brings back memories of when I was a kid admiring them.to me US cars reached there peak starting in 55 though to 65...
Music to my ears. Nice job. Can't wait for the next rescue.
"Even has a holy crap handle in the back." I love that! When I was old enough to know who my grandfather was, this is the car that I remember him driving. Circa 1960.
Double thumbs up guys. It looks like you got the passenger side hood hinge sorted too. As always, it's fun to see you guys get these old babies back to working condition.
Hey, thanks! Well, running for sure, but maybe not quite "working", haha!
Great sounding flathead, what a car, well done !
Hey, thanks, glad you liked it.
That old flat head sounds sublime!
The short range fuel tank is a genius work of form and function.
A 1953 Ford, TWO DOOR sedan, AND a V-8? 😳
That car is worth a restore.
The best thing about that car is it has the right amount of doors!
Loved this series on the 53 Fords, the beautiful Standard Poodle and the yard of amazing old independents. Thanks for a very entertaining program!
( glad Stella finally got her ride ).. You guys are the KING of Cobblers .. Another job well done
Hey, thanks for the note; glad you liked it... Cheers from me and Stella!
Dean's words of wisdom hah... came back to the older videos, Dean always cracks me up.
This was back when they actually took the time to DESIGN a car rather than create cookie cutter versions of all the rest. It would be great to see this old classic fully restored to it's former glory.
The hubcap is from a 1969 fury 3 like mine. We had a 1954 Ford when I was a kid. It ran great until my mom creamed the quarter panel! It had an “engine turned” dash and a Speedo with a little window on top to let in light in the day time. My Fury runs great also although the 318 has to work pretty hard to move such a heavy machine.
Stella is the brains in this outfit.
Little interior work and a good chrome and paint job and it will be good for a show lol.
I really enjoy every episode of this show. I hope it becomes a tv show here in the States. Thank you guys. It ads enjoyment to my everyday.
1953 was Ford's 50th anniversary model year. That's what the center piece of the horn ring says.
I'm binge watching the hell outta these. Grinning from ear to ear... I know where to tune if I need a pick me up!
love the manual choke feature, true thrifty Canada in car
What an enjoyable time watching the Ford running . the flat head V8 engine ran so quiet . I know you Agents are busy at doing your thing , I appreciate your time and for sharing the videos of all your cars . Ray in Pa U.S.A.
Hey, thanks for the note... more on the way soon if anyone wants...
You guys can rival top gear for entertainment value any day, simply brilliant.
I'm having a pleasant Sunday afternoon watching these vids in order, (finally) It's nice to see an old Cusso coming back to life. It's only a small V8 but it has a meaty growl. I also am a big fan of green on the early 50's cars. Certain shapes seem to go with certain colours.
I Like the ripping and Roaring sound of a V8 ford.Stella got her ride. thanks for the Video, Yee Haaw!
Hey thanks, glad you liked it... more coming soon...
Great to see the old car running and pretty educational too. I'd love to find something like this and just tinker on it and get it going just like this.
Hey, thanks for the note and for checking out the old Ford...
Good job, good show. Nice dog too. Have a good day.
Knowing how this car was abandoned and defunct, it is a great achievement to see her running /driving. Great job.
It's great to see such a cool car brought back from the brink of oblivion.
I had a buddy in 1959 that had a 53 ford conv. We put duals on it, chopped 1coil out of front springs, and 56 dodge lancer hubcaps. If I remember right, we picked up quite a few chicks with that.
The difference between our 53 Anniversary customline in Australia, and yours, is that ours was a 4 door. I see yours was made in Canada. Never ever knew there was a 2 door.. John, Perth, Western Australia.
How could I NOT subscribe after this...?
love 53's, have one, good to see another one rescude, and resurrected. great job and video.
Hey, thanks for the note and for checking out our video... Cheers from me and Stella.
Fuck yea. I totally love all the effort you put into the vids. Big time !!! Love em all
Hey, thanks for saying so; makes all the effort and swearing and editing and bullshit worthwhile.
Love all your videos, where are you guys, Winterpig?
Well done again to the champions of preservation. Verdict, A ROUGH RIDE IS BETTER THAT A SMOOTH WALK. Full respect to you all from the UK
That is badass right there!!! Nice work, thank you for saving them sir!!
Hey, thanks for saying so, glad you liked it.
coldwarmotors are any one of your 58 Plymouth furys for sale
Dean is a powerhouse of enthusiasm.
Hearing that old v8 just rumbling while your driving It is loud and proud
I recently got the 4 door version as my first project car, cant wait to get it running
The octane drip is cracking me up.
loving all the guitar at the beginnings
No brakes? No problem. I drove the Merc for the first year with just the parking brake to stop with. Good work. The old flathead is sounding great.
Hey, thanks for the note; glad you liked the old flattie; I was really happy how easily it came back to life!
Always come back to this video , one of my favorites!!! Love when the old flathead roars back to life ...cheers from Calgary
I was thinking the other day when I found out you a real nice person, and I was wrong about you, have I got you laughing yet? I was the guy complaining about lack how-to on the stainless Anyway I was looking at your inventory from Yuma, Arizona and thought where the hell are all the fords, so many Dodges and Chryslers Chevs Oldsmobiles I'm impressed you actually have the golden anniversary model 1953 they were tough cars I'm telling you from personal experience my future brother-in-law was driving in Boyle, Grassland area north of Edmonton in his 53 and lost control of his car on very icy roads and hit the ditch, but the ditch was a giant snowdrift from the snowplow and the car went up the bank and then rolled over and slid on it roof then rolled back on it wheels the was so much dust when the sun visors came down, Then when everything stopped moving all we could hear was the gallon of wine going chug, chug then everyone started yelling find the jug, find the jug. because the snow was so soft nothing got bent but the roof and not that much, all the doors opening fine, windshield didn't break. It started right up after a short time, no one was hurt because we were all drunk and he drove that car for a few years after that, then sold it. TUFF CAR never had a problem with it in the 5 or so years he owned it. I know too much info.
Just as easy to shop for parts as a concurrent Chevy, and your local mechanic won't kill you when you need service. You get the key parts down at your local AutoZone.
love you guys, you're the best
Great to see her run, would love to have that baby.
Thumbs up again for saving another green car. I like inline 6cyl. engines much more and was amazed that you own so many cars with that kind of engine, including the daily driver Frazer. Propably the rest of the world assumes that nearly all American automobiles run with a V8. Maybe because of the astonishing fact: Over 1 Billion !! engines have been produced to date!!
Well done, lads! I was watching the bottle, thinking it would run out of gas. Guess it did!
She's a keeper
Congratulations guys!
Loved watching this guys. Great old car and your expertise is amazing. You’re also very entertaining.
You guys have way too much fun. Thanks for the laughs.
I absolutely love this show! I am still getting old cars and new ones going just like you guys ,eh!
You guys are champs! Liked and subb'd.
Love that dog
My grandmother had a ‘69 Plymouth Fury with hub caps very similar to your odd one.
Good job man....My very 1st car as a teen was a '54 Customline. Pale blue 4 dr. 42K original miles back in '77. Shit transmission tho. The ol' "Fordamatic" Sometimes reverse would just give you the finger and not work.
Hub cap is mid 70 's chrysler . keep up the great vids , Iknow its alot of hard work , editing , spliceing in swear words ,lol, etc . You rock ! my motor head friend .
These Early 50's Fords were the last of the Boot-Leggers because they were so rugged and simple to repair ...even if they were shot at by "Revenuers" they kep't on going..
More milk bones, let's go. Hahaha.
I love these videos. I absolutely love these kinds of videos of working on old cars that have been sitting in fields for who knows how long and seeing them start up again.
Great job guys.
I've been watching your videos for almost 2 years and they just get better and better. keep these going man, I love your dog too. I used to have a rottweiler that I took for rides in the bed of my truck. keep this going man. I love it
Hey, thanks for saying so... I'll keep it up if people want to see this kind of serious documentary journalism.
coldwarmotors you should keep this up. You are like my favorite channel. When I'm bored and have nothing to do I go to your channel and watch your videos. Honestly you should have WAY more subscribers than right now. And I'm pretty sure Stella likes it too. Cheers from michigan
Thanks for saving these great cars from a time in history that should never be forgotten. I look forward to many more. Definitely one of your best "will it run" cars in my opinion.
Thanks for checking it out; I thought this one turned out pretty good, too. More on the way!
I just got finished watching this 4-part series of videos about this `53 Ford and here`s what I have to say : AUGH - I can`t take it anymore - The wry wit, the dry humor, the " Eh?"s - I`m subscribing !!!Now, on this damp Iowa spring morning while I wash my laundry ( as I typically do on Sunday mornings ), I`m going to have to start watching your other videos. But --- only until the laundry is done because I really need to spend the afternoon trying to find an oil leak on my `97 F150. Eh ?
YES! Lovin' the sound. A field drive, or "paddock hack" is always a must, too.
Haha glad you liked it!
Patina is awesome. If it was sealed and frozen in time just like it is, what a cool weekend cruiser it could be.
Your vids always make me smile. Keep up the good work!
Perhaps the best episode yet! Greetings from Nova Scotia
I was worried about Stella in that machine! lol It looks restorable. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome how Stella seems to love your passion as much as you do. Man's best friend best friend for sure
Stella sure likes car rides... the fixing part maybe not so much though...
I was eleven years old when this car was new, so I saw lots of them everyday back in the day.
Yeah, these must've been everywhere with over 300000 produced of this model alone!
There's so much potential here for a spectacular car! I see Rat Rod, but please no low down ground scraper. The minimalist approach would bring out the soul of this old beast. Keep the Flathead, get some OEM tires from Cooker, a fresh interior, stock or close to it, patch up the rust, and don't do too much more than you absolutely have to. I see a seriously cool time Traveller. Be really radical and don't hang any fuzzy dice from the mirror. If you do that, it'll be a one of a kind.
awesome work sir !
like family had one of these saw it in old film stock but great job getting it running never short of cars to drive for sure.
Another awesome video. Thanks for sharing the revival of one of Henrys classics. Keep up the great work folks! Scratches behind the ears for Stella! Chuck in Kansas
This is the reason why I am hooked don;t you know,,, My opinion of Edmonton is that the refuse of Canadian society eventually shows up there, and I am on my way soon,,,,
These videos are all great, the car is great and that engine sounds great!
