Got a tip for you, Lauren... paint the hinges with craft glue, silicone etc. It will peel off when you're finished with the piece đ Love your work
Brilliant!
Thanks đ
the designers of these older pieces were no dummies--they created hardware to suit the piece perfectly, so I think it's great to reuse those pieces of hardward, no matter what some people think. this turned out very very well!!!! love it!
This turned out great. The trailer in the background made me cry. My husband bought a trailer last year that he was wanting to restore so that we could start traveling and unfortunately he passed away just a few days ago. So needless to say my emotions are pretty raw.
I was VERY interested in watching how this particular piece turned out because we have the exact same dresser (purchased new in 1983). Obviously we hate the armoire/dresser now because it looks so dated so we were going to paint it after we move to our new home. After watching your video I am going to paint it in the exact same color and bleach the inside wood just as you did. But, I will replace the hardware. I canât get over how beautiful this turned out! It is amazing how these dated pieces become beautiful and modern with some paint, sanding and new hardware.
Omg! I have it too!! I've had it since I was a baby. (Born in 1982)
Agreed. It's a style that arose in the 70's but is no way 'mid century'...
The color is beautiful, I love it.
I had one also but mine was solid wood bought in the mid 60âs by me. it had a different design 9n the two drawers but was painted or stained really black. Wish I had it now.
I love all the old furniture, I love the old hardware all all. The newer stuff is as cheap made as cars, you pay a
Fortune and if it needs fixed it coast a mint. You do a beautiful job. Wish I could find a thrift store, Iâve been
Looking for end tables, they are so heavy,so I canât budge them, no friends or anyone that could help me. I
Donât take on any large items, any more. Maybe some small mirror or picture frames. Keep up the beautiful
Work,đđđđ
Your color and tone selection on this piece is impeccable !
Thank you!!
I love how you rejuvenated the hardware! I was hoping you would! Love the whole piece!
LOVE using the original hardware and making it gold!!!
Wow! I love the fact that the inside was left as wood. The bleaching made all the difference. Impeccable colour choices, both with paint and hardware. My one small criticism would be the stencil. I don't like that too much but the rest is beautiful.
STUNNING! She got a great deal on that piece
So glad you kept the hardware! Omg, itâs stunning!
Thank you!! đ
I recognize the furniture brand. Yes a very nice quality piece. Beautiful transformation.
What a beautiful Green.
Love the colour, the bleaching looks great, the stencil is a beautiful touch & the gold gel wax reinvigorated the handles. Nice job Lauren đ đ â€ïž
Love any shade of green. Beautiful.
I never knew you could bleach wood! So gorgeous!!đđđ
This is absolutely my favorite piece you have ever done! Iâve never seen do a stencil. Itâs fabulous! I wish you would do more! It adds such character! Great job Lauren! đđč
Thank you so much! I think its in my top 3 faves that I have done! Like I said, I am not a stencil girl but this one was subtle enough that I liked it! Thanks for watching!
Piece looks very good. You are very thorough and that is refreshing. The stencil is a nice touch. Would like to see you try a clear coat before applying the stencil. Then a second coat to seal it. Thank you!
What a pretty flip!!đŠOff topic your đ fishtail braid is on point!!
In Life we have so many good things to learn like creativity like this interiors .............the furniture adds beauty to the interiors.............
This style is called Italian provincial. I love the style. So pretty.
Love this color and leaving the inside bare wood looks great. Really like the stencil on the inside. The hardware looks good too. I use the old hardware a lot of times on my pieces because a more modern hardware just doesn't look right. Thanks Lauren for another great video !!
Thank you! Cheers! I agree with you on the hardware! Just looks right with the original cleaned up and revamped a bit! Thanks for watching!
I LOVE THE OLD HARDWAREâ€
I love that paint color!!
Isnât it beautiful!? đ
I actually have the same piece waiting for me in the garage. So timely!
I love, love, love that colour. You did a great job, It it gorgeous đđđ!!!
I ALWAYS use the original hardware! You can't buy that stuff any more and they are always fabulous when they are gilded or even spray painted. For me, what's the use of adding modern hardware to a mid-century piece? It's all about the hardware! This piece turned out beautifully, Lauren!
Andersonville, Tennessee here! This is one of my favorites! Beautiful!
I am usually a "Don't paint" person, but I have to admit that this piece turned out lovely! I love the color! It looks so much more contemporary now. I like that you salvaged a well built piece of furniture. I'm sure it was very expensive when new.
Painting typically ruins the value of a piece. People are often unaware of how much a piece is devalued by refinishing/painting.
@@b_uppy Yes, I agree. But that's mostly for antiques. This piece looked to be 1960's??
@@joann5157
It's a seventies piece and starting to get at that age where it is hard to find them. It van be iffy if you are unaware of the maker, etc. Collectors items also fall into that category...
This might be my favorite piece youâve done! Loved that you kept the hardware
this turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!!! đđđ
Amazing. Never imagined that bleach on wood stain could do that.
Greens are my favorite! Love it!
A new subscriber but this is by far my favorite flip! You knocked it out of the park with the color selection...

Fantastic! I would definitely do more modern handles, the T style knob and place them vertically.
Could reuse or replace! Just depends! I think the original suits this piece well after it got a little upgrade đ€
@@FurnitureFlippingTeacher So I commented before I saw the video completely and at the end I saw how you colored gold all of the hardware and it looks absolutely stunning! I totally take back my opinion to change the hardware I love how this looks â€ïž
I just painted my end tables that color and I love them!!! They have a dark top!
Love the pieces you do, wish I could get some to furnish a new home being built, especially the chair with the green cushion close to where you were refinishing the hardware. Too bad I live in the Caribbean.
