Kelly Hart 1000fps slow motion kickflip

- I filmed Kelly Hart doing a few flat ground kickflips at the Sole Tech lab in Lake Forest California for Josh Friedberg's project AlreadyBeenDone.com. The first one is indoor on Sole Tech's force plate where they were taking force measurements and the other two were filmed just outside the building. The camera is a Redlake N3 high speed camera and it was filming 1,000 frames per second.

Kickflips like these are just beautiful. I can do heelflips this high, but I've never liked kickflipping because when I was younger, I couldn't get the hang of doing them high. Guess it's time to relearn this.
Boy same here. I am literally getting back into skateboarding after a 12 year break, trying to relearn my tricks and unlearn bad technique that I havent noticed back back in the day. Popping high kickflips with an early catch are my number one priority atm
@@ezassegai4793 i took a 12 year break as well.. But im 30 now so not only do i have to relearn everything, but also have to deal with older guy problems lol.
Falling now is a lot scarier than before.. Im afraid ill break a hip 😂

I can do higher heel flips to and find them much easier.. this is goin back about 20 years but the group i skated with most were better at kickflips.. natural heelflippers are rarer i think

If there is a way, it would be so great to see the first few seconds of the trick in full slow motion when he launches the board into the air, not only the part from when he flicks the board mid-air. Thank you
I actually shot this back in 2010, so it's a couple years old.
I've been trying to get higher kickflips and can't figure out how these guys position their feet so close to the bolts and still manage to get enough leverage to yank the board into the air after the pop. I think my ollies are decent but I position my foot a few inches behind the bolts to get more room to slide and "bone" the ollie
being close to the bolts reduces the distance to the nose, so you are sure to flick high on the nose, which will lift the board, and not too much on the left side (for regular)

Kickflip, one of the most basic trick and almost the best looking trick out there.
There is only another trick that looks better and thats a big spin done flawless.
Badilak every trick can look as good as any other. Just depended how you do it.

you want to catch it up? well just try to put your foot more like in the middle... and flick your ankle fast and up... If you do that your board will flip but its like going to suck up while it is leveling and you just keep your back foot waiting for it and then just stump it to the floor and there you go
