    I just replaced my bulbs today. Make sure you insert your bulbs correctly. If not, the brake light will work, but not the tail light. If done correctly, both lights will work as intended. On a 2004 Nissan Frontier, the brake light and the tail light are lit from the same bulb on each side (driver's and passenger's). Mahalo from Maui!!!

    You can put a new bulb in it or even swap the bulb from the other sides light. If that light is working you know the bulbs good. So if you swap the bulb and it now lights up you know the bulbs blown. If you swap it and it still doesn't light up there is an electrical issue. Let us know how the repair comes out!

    Noticed the other day that the parking/running light was out on our 2003 Frontier, but it was less than obvious how to replace it. This video was excellent in showing that the entire light receptacle needed to be removed. The only point I would add is that after removing the two bolts as noted, the receptacle remains in place with an alignment pin and must be pulled straight forward to complete the removal. Otherwise, I couldn't have done it without you!

    Loved your video. Very simple to follow your instructions. Note: If you could let the customer know that his straps make it a junky truck. At least use tie wraps, minimum.

  • @kerranz
    @kerranz Před rokem +1

    NOTE: When putting the new housing in, you have to make sure the light unit clicks in to the molded clips at the bottom (just above the bumper
    facia), it takes a pretty good bonk with your fist to make it clip in...otherwise your lights will be shooting about five degrees up, which is a lot in a headlight.I didn't know about that and drove around for a week or two blinding everybody and not seeing the road well. In fact I only discovered my error when I got frustrated trying to adjust one and gave it a light punch after dropping that one damn bolt for the fourth time.
    Another tip--stuff a rag into the body below that inner mounting bolt so it'll get caught if you drop it, because you will.

    On my 2004 frontier XE I found a clip at the bottom that you have to jolt it (the headlight structure) out of, once you have removed the top two bolts, of course. But, I'm still having an issue getting it out. Is there another clip on the bottom that you can't see? or just that one?

    IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING-
    There is a clip on the inside (towards the grill) that is holding it in, it's much more obvious on the passenger side, use a long screw driver to pry it up and you'll just have to yank the headlight out.

    I tried to replace the bulbs, however when I got the assembly off, the headlights were completely different, they're held in by a metal clip, and the bulb is nothing like I have ever seen before, its no bigger than the bulbs you see on your christmas tree, is there a way to get this off? And what bulbs do I need to replace it with? I have the Spec D headlight assembly.
    For the record I bought the truck like that, I did not do any modifications to the assembly.

    Heads up: This video does NOT apply to the D22 for the European market (Navara). I ordered LED bulbs to swap into my 2004 D22 Navara based on this video before I even removed the light housing (yeah, I only have myself to blame), but it turned out the European Navara turn signal bulb is a W21W (7440 / W2,5x16d) and not a P27W. Also, for some reason there is just one parking light bulb (still W5W, though) on each side.
