The general consensus is that Ys V, this game, is the weakest in the entire Ys series and is also the only version on a system(SNES) that was too weak for it
So, yes, this game in particular kinda needs a remake. Not helping that it's a canon game.

I thought this one still played with the "touch and go" type of gameplay from early Ys entries. This one looks a bit more fun.
This was the game that introduced jumping and a dedicated sword button to the top-down view games. It was also the first to be developed exclusively for a home console as opposed to PC Engine or similar platform. Before going into Lacrimosa of Dana (technically Ys 8) Falcom asked themselves if they should go for a remake of V or an 8th game, and coming off of Memories of Celceta (a remake of IV), they didn't want to do two remakes in a row. I'm personally hoping a V remake is not only still in the thought bubble, but will also return to the traditional solo Adol gameplay.
The sound of this game sounds like final fantasy 5 for me somehow.

I stopped watching after the second boss. "Desert Wolf" must be a translation mistake, because I'm sure thats a boar.
Worse, it was an ACTUAL FULL-BLOWN COMPANY! I'd understand if it was fan translation like this one... but a 'proper' localizing company? Shame on you, NISA.
