I’ve just bought one off eBay for £60 and am looking forward to getting it hooked up to my rig! The old analog gear is still top notch in my humble opinion! 👍
You're certainly not alone in that sentiment my good man! I'm consistently made jealous reading the prices you Brits get used gear for! I think this SR-9 cost me like $45+ shipping. But the SR-60 was $75+ shipping. So probably like $110! ...& this was in 2018! Here's the Playlist where you can find my Reverberation Amplifiers in action, if you're interested! /watch?v=V_H4CPYzlmM&list=PLGx26OGK1eBai8NCPPsBUC025-5TfItVy Off to check out your Channel! Thanks for dropping by :]
Caalamus thanks dude, I don’t post to be honest m8, your find a lot of boxing and conspiracy interests! I might start posting some intelligent drum and bass mixes though? But it’s not my thing! I just watch and occasionally comment 👍
Yeah, for sure! I assume you remember his Paternal Twin... the SR-60. She's appeared in a great many of my Videos. Now the two are stacked on top of each other. Keep your eyes peeled when you wake up on the 3rd of December! ...this week's PunkClock features dueling Displays! :P Thanks for tuning in! :]
Sounds cool! So the stereo jack is plugged direct into the Microbrute? just trying to get my head around the signal path when in mono. Would it be an issue if set up as a send/return effect on a mixer? Not that I have one of these but just in case....
Man, I don't know. S/R would be a single Balanced Cable, huh? That's a good question! I only have on Mixer & it's dedicated to my Tape Delay set up... where in the AUX Send is coming back into it's own dedicated channel. Yes, there is a 1/4 to 1/8" Mono Adapter plugged into the MB, the Stereo 1/8" to RCA is connected there... then to the SR-9. I just realized that I could've run the 1/8" to RCA straight out of the MB's Headphone Jack :P I wonder if that would make any difference. Spaghetti wrangling is tough work! :P
Good catch with the stereo plug solution! But what an odd unit - does it seem like specialized professional studio gear? I wonder if it was designed for the home HiFi enthusiast who might just want to hear a little more reverb on the old James Taylor album.
Nope... it was totally intended for the consumer market. Run of the mill home Hi-Fi√ They were basically trying to make records sound "live". Running recorded Mixes through these seems stupid... at least to me. But they make great Delays for a single Voice!
@@CaalamusTube I do like the sound. And the green lamp. I've seen that glowing on the floor in at least one of your videos - it really does add ambience.
@@pbartmess Yes, you've seen it's Sister... the pioneer SR-60. She's got an amber display. But the PunkClock for December 3rd will feature the pair... dueling Displays! :D Unfortunately the aforementioned Recording predates this solution :[

I believe the 6 db boost button on the back helps boost the signal as well
Indeed, but that doesn't address the Stereo issue.
The thing was made for HiFi. Not Synthesizers :P
I am only here to see that amazing display!

An interesting device. But apart from its effect I am truly captured by that green glow... :-)

Hmmmmmm, interesting demonstration. Have a SR 303.
That's the Blue one ey? Do you notice any serious difference between the 303 & the 9?
