    Hm, why the super wide & high stance? Doing conventional downhill freeride I only find it necessary to get that wide while trying to stick on very deep turns, & even in slides getting excessively wide seems not to help. & I’d think that being that high up in your stance would make you unstable, but I guess it doesn’t?

      @@wiggpickle Is it true the bio board just uses a different gearing ratio to achieve their higher speeds? The supersport has more torque right? Is there any board on the market that compares to the torque of a supersport with falcon gear?

    • @wiggpickle
      @wiggpickle  Před 2 lety +2

      In short, yes, the BB uses lower gear ratios to achieve higher speeds. It's all math. Power (wattage) is voltage × amperage. Any 18s board with a similar battery will make similar power given the setting in the vesc are equal. Torque and top speed are directly related, so yes, assuming they have similar vesc settings, a stock SS will feel torquier due to the higher gear ratio. As long as the battery can supply adequate current and the vesc setting are the same, 18s power is 18s power. BB actually uses the Lacroix Stormcore ESC. I just prefer the look, feel, and engineering of Lacroix boards.

    How does this compare to your new DIY setup

    • @wiggpickle
      @wiggpickle  Před rokem

      Nowhere near it really. The 4p battery doesn't allow for much amperage draw before the voltage starts to sag significantly, ultimately producing much less wattage. The 100d controller was always unreliable. Setup wasn't as precise or dialed, motors weren't as good, etc.

  • @user-yq6ov6ow7l

    Is it just me or does the board not seem to tilt with your feet? Thats the only part that seems sketchy. Seems like your slowing down a lot for turns because you’re scared to lean too far over because it forces you to rely on the traction of the grip tape. Does not seem very maneuverable compared to a traditional downhill skateboard. Not criticizing, I’m looking for a board for high speed carving.

    • @EAGLINWRX
      @EAGLINWRX Před 2 lety +1

      Hi! That’s because his trucks are set super stiff to handle the high speed. Even at medium stiffness on my board I have a hard time tilting the deck when I’m taking sharp turns at speed. When you’re cruising around the city it’s nice to have a carvy board but once you pass 25mph you gotta stiffen up the trucks if you don’t want speed wobbles every 5ft. Hope that helps!

    • @user-yq6ov6ow7l
      @user-yq6ov6ow7l Před 2 lety

      @@EAGLINWRX
      Ah, makes sense
      I mean every type of hi speed board, whether it’s surfing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, motorcycle, scooter, etc, the turn and the lean angle always correspond with each other so there are no lateral forces trying to force you off the board.
      Sounds to mean like looser trucks and some sort of dampening would be ideal. Like maybe an rc car shock attached to the board and the truck.

    • @wiggpickle
      @wiggpickle  Před 2 lety +2

      This board doesn't represent the handling characteristics of a stock Lacroix. This board is currently setup to be stable at 50+ MPH which is why it looks so dead at low speeds.
