Happy gaming! Glen and Mark
I'd REALLY like to recommend Stitch. I'm going through a crap time atm and it's helped so so much. It's so relaxing but also a bit of a challenge. I just end up playing for hours 😊
Sounds very interesting, thanks for the recommendation!
Great game isn't it! Mark
It's the only thing to turn my brain off . It's magic
As a huge fan of picross it hits a perfect itch
@@SiobhanR28exactly what I’m searching for, damn brain! 😂
All about unicorn overlord for me at the moment, instantly become one of my favourite games of all time
I'm on my second playthrough and on highest difficulty.
Glad you're enjoying it mate it's so damn good. Mark
UO for the win. A strategy game hasn’t made me so happy since Fire Emblem for the GBA back when I was a kid.
It’s so damn good
Cursed Mountain is what you're thinking of. I used to play it at 4 to 6 am in the morning after a nightshift. Great game.
That's the one! Glen
And what a game it was! Nothing groundbreaking, but it had such an atmosphere...
I would really like to see The Sims and/or Life By You on the Switch as those kinds of games are quite lacking. Maybe for the next version in 2025 🤞
Imagine if Felix the cat was remade with Cuphead quality graphics. That certainly wouldn't hurt.
Experiential games are so very niche in that they rely on individual player interpretation of fun thus making it incredibly difficult to review objectively. Narrative driven "walk em ups / walking simulators" are similar in that regard but the narrative aspect adds another layer that makes it easier by comparison. Good effort on your review of Endless Ocean, Glen, no easy feat. Cheers for another enjoyable video SwitchUp 😊!
Thank you 🙏
I'm back on Monster Hunter Rise, haven't played for months but got the urge so steadily upgrading my gear again. And to comment on the objectivity of reviews, there are 2 ways to deliver in my opinion. It's either fully opinion based, so you have to find someone to watch/read who's into the same style of games as you to really get any useful insight, or you have no opinion involved and go solely on technical & performance ratings. The beauty of this channel is that you both have different tastes and can tell everyone what you prefer, but can also assess on a completely technical standpoint so even if you don't find a game interesting or your cup of tea, you give it credit where it's deserved and can't skew the scores you give based on your opinions.
In short, I love your videos and trust your opinions, so carry on fine sirs.
Yeah, keeping it clear when and what they're saying is opinion, while also putting effort into considering different perspectives is something these lads get right!
Oh wow, thank you for noting the file sizes associated - Sometimes thats the determining factor when making a purchase..especially when there are so many good games on sale -
Always looking forward to these video’s!! They have some great recommendations for when I’m looking for a new game to play. Currently I’ve Been playing some Assassin’s Creed Black Flag here and there. Still holds up very nicely, especially on the OLED. Also still trying to finish ToTK but I keep getting distracted by side activities 😅
I've been playing Endless Ocean and The Letter lately. Felix the Cat would be good pick up for me on a sale.
I’m playing My time at Sandrock, but gaming time has been scarce lately so sadly I don’t have any new games to recommend 😅 but I always have the time to watch Switchup videos, this series in particular is very enjoyable!
Nice video. I've been alternating between Luminous, Stitch, Balatro, and my latest run of Skyrim. I love your take on Luminous here. It's definitely not for everyone (or even for most people), but 40ish hours in and I'm having a blast - in a relaxed way, haha. I've found filling out the in-game photo album by trying to get high quality photos of every single animal to be particularly chill and rewarding.
I feel for you trying to score Luminous, though. The devs basically made a game from a niche series even more niche, alienating even some of the long term fans in the process. Those of us who have played the series primarily for chill relaxation are still having fun (the addition of aggressive creatures to EO2 was divisive for a reason, with me in the "against" camp). Those who were drawn in by the additional features are not. Your review was one of the most fair and balanced I've seen. Kudos on a job well done.
Dear SwitchUp!
Thank you for all your videos. I just bought a Switch THIS year. And your videos are the reason I bought myself a really great and versatile collection of games to play on that system.
It‘s fitting that IGN very recently made a video of the Top25 Switch games. Those videos are so uninspired and repetitive I can‘t even watch them anymore. But your videos are always a breath of fresh air full of hidden gems I would not have found without you.
Thanks for this and keep up the great work. You are my nr. 1 go to channel when it comes to reviews for Switch games!
I’ve mostly been playing Vampire Survivors lately, I wanted to unlock everything before the new DLC drops tomorrow (did it, yay!). Also a bit of Ni No Kuni 2, and I absolutely love it so far! And lastly I finished Adam Wolfe, which was fun but it feels like the devs planned on making more episodes.
Such a great game
Lets talk about games! I love talking about games.
I've been playing lots of Salt and Sacrifice lately. I like it. I really really like it. 😋
Oh nice how are you getting on with those odd hunting sections ??
@@SwitchUpYt Those damned mages? I eat their heart for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They can be annoying sometimes, but i cant help but gleefully chase after them if i ever encounter any of em while im exploring. Feels great to whack them. 😬😂
Zombies Ate My Neighbours (Limited Run!) wish they did IRL … LOL … Axiom Verge has been amazing so far one of my favourite Games. Also Star Ocean SSR is great progressing though the story and Chained Echos too. Toe Jam & Earl Back In The Groove is always a fun time aswell!
Jusant is great chill game, playing it on my steamdeck on the cloud with game pass. Felix the cat nostalgia.
Would LOVE to see a full review of Imagine Earth from you guys...
I was playing persona 3 portable, but now Hades 2 releached in early acces, so now I'll only have room for my SD in my hands :p
Trying to wrap up Outer Worlds! Playing Stitch and Unpacking as my side puzzle games right now. Just started It Takes Two with my partner yesterday and excited to have a regular game for us to play together. So many games 😅
WOOW! I was looking forward to Felix the Cat footage. I had this game on my gameboy back in the day and I absolutely loved it! What a fantastic platformer it was and the cartoon was brilliant too.
I am actually playing Unmetal at the moment, what a lovely game. Picked it up after seeing it on a top 10 list and watching your review back from 2ish years ago.
Insurmountable is great. My 5 year old son and i actually made it to the peak of the first mountain on insermiuntable difficulty! He was making all the choices. we died on the way down but it was a blast! i was reading all the text with true passion lol. It was a blast. Give it a shot, people !!! 😁
I just recently got a Switch Lite Yellow and MY GOD! that thing is bloody amazing, it's way more comfortable than the regular Switch in Handheld mode, it's changed the way i play Switch, TV play used to be my sole way of playing because of how unwieldy the regular Switch was in portable mode and the original Switches weren't comfortable, it wasn't really portable and now the regular Switch is my secondary console which i will solely use for TV play
I got the Lite in that darker blue color because it matches my gba from back in the day, I will die for this thing😅
I got a very comfortable grip for my first switch, because I really only could play portable 90% of the time. When I left it to my BF to play, I got a pink Lite and I loooove it a lot. It's mine only, much more portable even with the extra grip I got and really cool looking. It's the GBA+PSP I never had!
@MariaCalore Depending on the day (specifically work days) it fits in my front pocket😅
How can anyone play using joy cons? I just can't do it.
100% agree the lite is way better for portable play. Gonna mod mine soon with hall sticks so it will never drift 👌
Been playing Civ VI with a friend! Thanks for these videos
I’m LOVING Stitch. I bought it after seeing it on the channel and I’ve been loving it. So chilled but also a gentle challenge at times
So good isn't it! Mark
If you like games like The night of the Rabbit, maybe Candle: The power of the Flame would be worth trying out. The graphics are like a lovely water colour painting and it's on sale at the moment.
Shoutout to ANY strategy/Sim on console. Massively underappreciated genre.
Definitely! Mark
Good find on that Atari Mania game. looks interesting! Felix the Cat looks like a solid platformer that still holds up. I like that you can get into different vehicles to spice things up
I've been enjoying SaGa Emerald Beyond lately. It's my first SaGa game and thus far, it's a damn good first impression!
I really miss games with The Night of the Rabbit's looks, it's more timeless and gives an impression of care and love. this hand drawn art style also reminds me of games in the early 2000s... What a great time.
Loving this more laid-back videos, keep it up!
Imagine Earth looks so good. It reminds me of playing all my straetgy games with my brother on pc in the late 90's
I picked up Colt Canyon after learning of it from a previous video of yours and I’m so glad I did! Would love recommendations of similar games in the future, whether they’re similar in terms of western style, or in gameplay mechanics and feel.
Atari Mania looks unhinged - I’m in! Been playing Stitch, House and Final Station recently, all great games
Finally got around to playing the new Prince of Persia. It's different from the ones I remember playing as a kid, but I'm still really enjoying it
Playing through Atari Mania myself at the moment, also Star Wars Dark Forces, which was a favorite of mine as a kid when it came out, and dang if I don’t still love it all these years later.
I LOVED the Colonists, even though the last map is impossible to 100% on Switch. Imagine Earth looks great!
I love this series. Just chatting about the hobbie is one of the best parts of the hobbie
Fairly recently picked up my first arcade stick, and have been really enjoying cotton reboot and fantasy, as well as the sega ages thunderforce games, Ray'z arcade chronology, and dariusburst ac:ex
I've been playing the crab game after your recommendation last week. I don't have the skill level needed to enjoy it on hard difficulty, but since going all in on the gun mechanic, I have been having a blast 😂
Hello, Switch fiends. Little Noah is a hidden gem. Give it 30-45 mins. Addictive.
Been playing F.I.S.T Forged in Shadow Torch. Really enjoying it.
Thanks for the vid
On the Felix the Cat sound effect, couldn't it be that the sound capabilities of the NES are limited enough that two companies could have arrived at the same or very similar sounds without having access to shared assets?
Picked up Dredge and haven’t been able to put it down. Great little game. Looking forward to Little Kitty, Big City. Untitled Goose Game is one of my GOATs and it looks like silly fun.
I get why people aren't to thrilled with Endless Ocean. But at the moment I'm really enjoying it. I haven't played the others so maybe that is why I have no previous attachment to what was supposedly missing. I just like seeing the fish and taking some pictures. I also like that the online play is set to an hour limit, lets me go Okay that was fun but now I can play something else or dive back in kinda feeling.
You 2 are such cool classy guys, i can listen to you guys chatting all day lol great video as always !
Thanks to you guys, I've been playing a lot of Stitch!
The Night of the Rabbit looks intriguing!
Jusant is on PS5 too. I haven't finished it yet but very relaxing so farrrr.. i love WarioWare, might have to check the atari mania out I been working on Monster Hunter with my girl.. finally about to start sunbreak!! Just wanna upgrade a bit first lol
Yeah! ATARI Mania was fun. It's a great concept. Maybe I should get back to it to finally beat that very hard final boss!
Been playing Kingdoms of Amalur but taking a break to play Arzette. Just started Outward as well.
I've played Little Kitty Big City and it was okay. Then I played Lil Gator Game and it was great! It was relaxing, playful and sweet! Just started A Short Hike. Not sure about that one yet. I'm still getting used to the fixed camera.
Any chance you guys can review or cover Megaton Musashi Wired in one of these vids? Been seeing some interesting footage of it but haven't taken the plunge...
I am trying to get a code I think Glen would absolutely Love that. Mark
Just cos.i love Celeste so much, Im 99% sure that the text in the menus in insurmountable have the same font as the text in Celeste. Nerding out for the day complete.
Sounds like Endless Ocean is what Firewatch should've been -- a lovely hiking sim instead of a nonsensical nightmare.
I'm playing (and really enjoying) Hollow Knight at the moment.
I've waited for a sale on that game for a looooong time so I jumped on it as soon as I saw it was at 50% on the eshop.
It's tough but it's so great. Looks fantastic on the Switch Oled.
Anyone else watch these to see if there’s anything good for their Steam Deck? No? Just me?
I do have a Switch… but it’s been gathering dust since I got the Deck. I will still buy a Switch 2 though.
I finally beat Rogue Legacy 2. In a world of roguelites, it stood above the rest for me.
Great game. Mark
I saw Felix the Cat and thought it was another SwitchUp play on words for Little Kitty Big City. You guys going to review it?
Yes, we will. It's embargoed just now though.
@@SwitchUpYt can't wait for the review! Cheers for the reply!
And the back log grows once more…
I would love to see more games like king of seas (or even if they patched it to not be such a buggy mess). Boat/ship sailing and combat is a niche that's largely unfilled.
Dream dlc would be combat added to dredge.
Red Dead Redemption. I just can’t put it down. 😂😂😂
Imagine earth looks great, thanks
"you have to reprogram yourself out of this endless addictive candy design"
Heroes crushing the horrendous game designs and bad attitudes they cultivate in people! More games like Endless Ocean! Pleaaasse!
---As for "cater to everyone", better idea : trick people into thinking it's the bad, addictive type of game and slowly reprogram them to appreciate ACTUAL freedom and quality
Any game that gives you a high fin from a great white shark can’t be all bad Glen?
Did you guys check out that first person mountain climbing game with the ice picks? Dont be scared of heights🤭
Always good to get a high fin! Glen
Please shout out insurmountable when it’s on a sale because it’s got me intrigued but £17.99 seems a bit steep for a punt
Will do mate. Mark
So when is Imagine Earth supposed to come to Switch? I went to their page and it shows it isn’t released yet, I assumed from this video it was already out
Today I believe
@@SwitchUpYt Thanks, I rechecked the page a couple of times because it kept saying unavailable. I guess I jumped the gun. Also it currently has a 30% discount fyi.
Did you find the controls intuitive or clunky since it started as a PC game? And were there noticeable frame issues or patch work needed done before considering it a buy?
The story is a miss on endless ocean but i still find ur review on it completely assassin. Its just a pure relaxing game. Nothing more....also...more ppl die a yr from "selfie deaths" then shark attacks. So....sharks rarely every attack a human. Just for the record.
They rarely do, but they do. The ocean is also an incredibly dangerous place in many ways and for us personally a complete lack of any danger wasn't a positive. There are relaxing games that still keep some danger, heck, Endless Ocean has done it before. It's all good, just an opinion. Mark
Is there an Imagine Earth review incoming??
Well considering its planned release was today and it’s not on eshop yet I’m guessing you’ve got a review code.
Hoping to do something. Mark
It’s out tomorrow for USA
Will you guys be reviewing Imagine Earth?
I haven't played my Switch in a couple months so not interesting games for me. I keep watching all the videos hoping one game will make me want to play again but no luck so far. Closest ones lately were Balatro, Sticky Business and Stitch but I haven't actually bought any of them yet.
Get Balatro mate... Get it... The cat game review is out today make sure to catch that one. Mark
I’ve been playing ni no kuni it’s so great
Funny enough i did say imagine earth was a good looking game on your last upcoming games that you guys ignored. ive been playing who is zombie. Ots a papers please clone with a zombie twist. Its might still be on sale. Its a fun game but get very hard in later stages because it feels like they don't give us enough time snd to many gimmicks to see if a good person or bad.
Ah not ignored mate just sometimes you can't reply to everything ;) - Mark
@@SwitchUpYt I'm just teasing you guys. I know you do the best that you can as you aim to target what the community likes.
Endless ocean looks boring as all shit, if I wanted to float around with some whales I’d just host an all you can eat pool party. 🤣
btw glen that game on Wii was called cursed mountain!
Daedelic still exist?
jusant - receding tide
I knew it was something tide related haha. Mark
Are you reviewing animal well?
I don't know mate but we'll probably chat about it on one of these. Mark
You fur sure should make a game.
How is Felix the Cat 25 USD?????
You want interesting? You want rose & camellia
Can't wait for my LRG version of this one.
Warsong
Definitely NEXT time I'll note it down right now
I've been enjoying Have A Nice Death.
Yeah it's good it just never reacher "great" for me. Mark
Recommending the Persona 5 Royal. Do not pass this game up. I am still playing it after 100 hours.
Are you drunk?
I hope not!
@@SwitchUpYt sound tipsy to me :)
