A Super hyper successful JAPANESE company, (Not Canadian) worth 9.2 TRILLION dollars, Profits 30 BILLION a year.
Canadians giving them 15% of the profit they make in a year.
THEY DON'T NEED OUR MONEY... Directly or indirectly to help them profit.

That 9.2 trillion is in yen. Their market cap is around 80 billion CAD

The money is to give them more of a reason to bring their business to Canada. Or maybe you'd like them to go to a different country that will give them money. This is why idiots like you could never run a lemonade stand.

Is Honda bringing in Japanese workers like how Stellantis are bringing in Koreans rather than hiring Canadians?

Honda's commitment to building in the markets they sell in is impressive. But the subsidies are over the top.

@@Tempus64 actually they are losing customers to ICE vehicles and hybrids. The stock has lost how much in last 18 months? There is no utility to a Tesla outside a major urban center. And even there it’s hard to find an unoccupied charger. Check out the highway charger on the LA to Las Vegas route. Brining in diesel generators to charge EV’s . Or better yet wait for 2 hrs ib a lineup before you can connect and charge. No one is looking behind EV’s to see the obvious carbon footprint to mine the battery materials, transport the materials to a specific manufacturer. Do a deep dive into the footprint and the scalability of the North American electrical grids. Unachievable without significant infrastructure upgrades. USA and Canada grids and sources would never match ICE vehicle scalability.

Wonderful. However the governments need to produce a public net zero spreadsheet to prove all elements from raw materials to final delivery in the production of a zero emission vehicle.
My informed conclusion, the vehicle will, but the carbon footprint to get there will not balance out, this fact will never be reported. A Thank you to Honda for choosing Canada.

My guess is that only one of the three EV battery plants Canadians are "investing" in will survive as the world "doesn't" transition to 100% EV and Trudeau will be long gone for the closures.
