    I know I am late to this video; however, I have spent hours attempting to shade gemstones in vain. I understand highlights and shadows and a three color palette--plus blending other colors. You made it so easy! You spoke in the language I understand! Thak you again!. Mine doesn't pop as much as yours--but it's passable! Blessings! I also subscribed!

      @@danishlee9162 Oh- i forgot i made this comment haha. I made this novel for fun only. I putted it in my drafts. The novel was about this planet that had 5 lands on them. each and everyone one of them had a queen and king. This planet was strange by the way. They were like aliens, but with powers. The queens were the ones with most power. Sometimes they can turn into great big monsters but they don't do that or they will scare the little ones, plus it's for battles only. This one queen had an abusive husband and was forced to have a baby with him since of there parents. So basically they did. When she was pregnant, she killed the husband. She cried and cried but she knew it was worth it. She hid the body under the ground, 6 feet, burned everything that had in touch with the gun or his blood and boom. It was done. She went to sleep in fear. One day, she went to the hospital by herself since she started feeling a little pain on the bottom of her back.
      BOOM
      There was a explosion on the other land. It was so big, all of the other lands saw it. Millions were killed.
      the novel was interesting tbh, i loved it. Wanna hear more?

    Fantastic! I am absolutely a newbie when it comes to gemstones. As a matter of fact, this is my first tutorial video on the subject, but I'd really like to learn. I have a few coloring books that have pages that include gemstones, which is one of the reasons why I'd like to learn, but now that I've watched your video, I think I have fallen in love with the idea of them even more, which is why I have asked to join your facebook group! I do have a question about the Sakura white gelly roll pen. I was wondering if you could substitute a white colored pencil for it. Would that work, or would the results not be as good? I ask because I know that many times gel pens and colored pencils do not mix. Thanks again for a great video. I've subscribed to channel and plan to keep up with you!

    • @VitruvianArt
      @VitruvianArt  Před 6 lety

      Hi Cindy! Gems are so addictive and thank you! To make the highlights and have them be very white in order to stand out no, you can't substitute a white pencil. however if you draw in the hightlights first and them color around them using the paper for the white, that can work. :)

    Only correction....possibly put indirect v direct light sources on separate bits of card but next to each other.....make it clearer for absolute beginners. Do one first THEN the other, because the two couldn’t be next to each other in “real life”.
