We had an amazing day thank you and you are a star
Thank you so much Alison
Thanks for the update Ivan, container garden is filling up now. All the plants are looking nice and healthy.
Thank you Sheila
i actually have a tip if you ever get around making a another box from pallets, i do it aswell but with spare planks. you can put a square container on 1/3 of the bed with a closed lid, and just drill some holes on the side, if you put worms in there you can use the container to use as compost bin, and the worms will live in the soil, eat the scraps and thus feed it back to the plants.
Excellent tip Thank you
happy birthday to your wife, ivan..................brian
Thank you Brian much appreciated
Thanks Ivan the container garden is zooming along now, Happy Birthday Ginny and I hope that you both had a lovely day. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thanks Stevie we really had a good time
I love making those free pallet planters, bit of sweat and splinters but something to be proud of. My pumpkins have exploded out of the planters though haha, found some grounds to root in. Hopefully the fruit that's starting to grow will be nice and big for Halloween 🤞
I do line them with compost bags / waste foodsafe plastics to retain moisture and avoid using wood treatment, plus don't have to worry so much about the quality of the wood as there's a barrier. Hopefully it'll mean they last longer and it sends less waste to the tip
Thats great Pablo
Good-day Ivan and Happy B-day Ginny! ( : Your pumpkin plants are beautiful. ( : They are going to look great climbing up the fence and the trellis you attacked to the planter. And you can never have too much lettuce. ( :
With my pumpkins and winter squash I make a pumpkin pit. You dig a deep hole, add in kitchen scraps, fish heads, etc., cover with a bit of soil, and then plant the plant. As the plant grows it will find that composting food and grow like crazy! ( : If I grow my melons, squashes or pumpkins in a planter/pot I do the same thing...sometimes I put a compost container on top of the soil - just a plastic jug with holes in the bottom or flower pot. I fill the compost container with scrapes and a handful of dirt or compost from time to time.
All good tips thank you Valorie
i love this guy, he is so positive
Thank you very much :)
Hi Ivan, I bought this from lidl thinking it was a cucumber 😂
Cucurbita maxima. Jaune De Paris.
Can it be grown in a container ?
