Hey Sarah You have to take Carlo to San Diego in Otay Ranch Chula Vista. It is called Garbatella Italiano. You have to ask for Chef Antonio, best pizza ever. He's been making pizza since he was 14. Absolutely fantastic, and Carlo actually reminds me of Antonio

Yikes the same prank was pulled on me I begged to go somewhere else, I couldn’t even eat it as it’s too fake cheesy and like Sarah cannot eat gluten I cannot eat lactose. This is not a problem with many Italian style pizzas bc you can easily get Parma ham and arugula no cheese still delicious. Or anything else really even a margherita I just eat around the fresh cheese my friends are always happy to take it! Such a sad sad day for Carlo!
Come to Houston Texas (it’s really in Katy/cypress area) but go to Grato!! It’s very affordable and I’ve served Italians that came from Italy visiting America and said that it reminded them of home! And genuinely that is really authentic compared to what you get anywhere else.

No lie though I’ve had both NYC (I lived there) and the AZ pizza is the most like Italy (I lived in Italy my bf lived in AZ). You used to be able to get affordable pizza like that all over LA too, especially on Melrose but all those places are gone now and I assume in LA that would cost $50

Unless something has changed, as far as I know pizzeria Bianco ranks third in the country as having the best pizza behind Frank Pepe's Pizza in New Haven Connecticut, my favorite pizza place here in Connecticut, and Di Fara in Brooklyn.

Bravo Sarah for giving up gluten. There are great pastas made from corn and rice by Barilla if you must. Good luck, its difficult but worth it. Ive been dealing with it for seven years
