Actually that is specifically the DLC jars, do remember that the Hornsent are a different society than the Golden Order and the Erdtree, with different societal systems and customs.... Erdtree Jars are a means of peaceful burial where the jars are meant to help send the bodies back to the Erdtree and its Minor Trees.... Which in the lands between are seen as respectful and honorable

its the shadow realm the dark side of the base game just by the title you already know things in the base game are complete opposite of the dlc
