    Thank you
    Hi
This car came to me initially as a non runner...
    Fix here: • Vauxhall/Opel Corsa D ...
After got the car running, I was left with what seemed to be the initial fault, something that looked like a misfiring... but, is a misfiring?
Follow me on this video to find out what was the problem...
The car had other issues... and a fault that came up once the engine warmed, lead to the owner to requested to not carry on working on the car...
    Hope you enjoy the video.
Any questions or comments put them below.
Like always, thank you for watching!

If you find the car starts misfiring again possibly take a look at the EGR channels running inside the intake manifold. If they start to clog up they will set off misfire codes due to the twinport system involved. Blanking off the EGR stops the misfire but causes a lean condition. I had Z16XEP astra with the same problem. There are conditions which trigger the missfire. All the best.

the egr pipe on those engines arrives straight under throttle plate , but side opened.
this will create a heat point and potentially can melt the inlet plastic manifold .. . I had 2 cars like this , one had so sever air leak that the brake booster was out of vacuum after 2 - 3 brakes cycles. the ecu compensate big time via the trims. anyway those hybrid ecu`s are a joke. the vibrations and the heat cycle from the engine just destroy them. the egr pipe cand be cut short or disable the system , kess v2 is ok on that ecu. top job , thanks and all the best!

Low oil pressure can cause P0016 🙄. Also, especially with these, oil pressure switch causes the ECU to fail. Always check oil pressure switch (and O2 sensor 1 plug) for oil contamination. Then check socket on ECU.
It has been known for the Vauxhall main dealer to quote £2600 to repair this after they have dabbed every plug on the engine loom with oil, even when it can't get to some of the other plugs - clean, new oil at that. I couldn't possibly comment any further.

I have a strange problem with my 2002 vectra 2.2 dti egr. At idle egr is sometimes commanded 100%.I can command it open and closed with my Autel, it goes to 100%,0%,100% etc like it should, but, sometimes when i command it to 100% it sticks there, even if i command it closed?? If i give it a slight rev it will drop down to 0% or thereabouts.
Now this makes you think egr valve is sticking, but it's throroughly cleaned and moves perfectly!? So why does the egr stick at 100%?
Car starts well, runs well, idles well, just once in a blue moon service spanner symbol comes on for a second. And at 60,70mph it will lose power, limp mode and the service light will come on.

A question to LM Auto Repairs: I see you have the dealer level VCI and software for most popular cars (eg Lexia 3 and Diagbox for Peugeot/Citroen, ODIS for VAS etc etc...). Yet you use the Maxisys 908 most of the time. Is that just for convenience? I would have thought that if you get a Peugeot, or a Ford, or an Audi in for faultfinding you would hook up a laptop with the Dealer software because that will do more than the Maxisys can. Just wanted to know why you always use the Maxisys first.

    • @LMAutoRepairs

      Hi
      Definetly convenience...
And to be fair, the is very specific circumstances where the dealer tool is actually needed...
Most of the times, Autel is more than enough to help you diagnose and repair...
But is always good to have the dealer tool, for that one time (or more...) where is the only one that can actually do what you need...

This owner was certainly pissed to hear what was causing the misfire, and idiots then resulting in him spending a shit load of money for a leak

@@LMAutoRepairs I have a Opel Zafira Z1XER, South Africa, with same no communication error ecu U2105. And the same as you with the car coming to me next after other mechanics raped the poor thing. And my diagnosis is same as yours. So it is cool. Keep up the good work and keeping our names as mechanics that know what we doing high. We are in Lock Down now so I cant order anything. It was here before we went into lock down, along with 8 other cars so I have a lot to keep me busy at least while the gates are closed. I work from home, so that is convenient.

LM Auto Repairs pretty common I always replace the pump and pick up tube with a chain kit. Correct oil so important these days.

in UK next step is change the engine...oil problems is the most big issue for engines in this country.
Is expensive to fix it. Very easy to find another engine and swap it with less money then rebuild the engine.
    The insurance companies help that.
Of course who knows the reason why to many cars become off road...
