(Ripped from my Led Zeppelin III CD), very good song, very underrated. The intro in the song was sometimes played to start Black Dog live (like in How the West was Won) enjoy.
I have a number of Zeppelin compilations, but when I listen to them I always expect Out on the Tiles to come on after Since I've been Loving You like on the original LP. I'm always a little disappointed when it doesn't.
End of side 1 of Led Zep III! That's the thing about cherry-picking favourite songs on the internet, I can't help thinking "and then its..." once a song finishes.
Somewhere I read that the phantom voice saying "stop" is Jimmy Page telling himself to stop playing, but then I read that it is Page telling Plant to stop singing. I'd puzzled over it for decades. I'm still trying to decide if the internet puts nagging questions to rest or takes some of the mystery out of life. Maybe it's both.
+David Day Knowing the language of your instrument (for you that would be Rudiments) gives you the technical ability to comprehend a piece of music. Your only limit is your physical ability.

I get that a lot when listening to compilations or mixed CD's. Expect a certain song to come on after another like it did on the album. lol
Let's go out on the tiles...........I'm thirsty! Jammed to this when it first came out........
Jimmy says stop because Robert comes in to the verse off time!
I didn't know that. I'd heard that Page was telling himself to stop playing. Thanks
This song is about going out drinking..... That's what out on the tiles means.

Jimmy couldn't stop playing his riff, so he had to tell himself to stop. That's why he said stop.
I wish the guitar was louder like live
actually its Jimmy who yells stop, i mean who knows why but he does... and they cease to stop xD
Damn if this not the best track bonham laid out...if you play drums, kiss next couple months goodbye trying to nail this.
David Daytook me 2 hrs. to learn but been playing for 40 plus years
