Honestly the longer this went the more I agreed with the criticisms Mike was bringing up. For a multibillion dollar company to not implement their decade of experience into the presentation side is insane and likely them knowing nostalgia will sell more than that will hurt.
The repetitive drum line in the menus drives me crazy. No licensed music or fight songs to mix it up is crazy.

I've been playing the game since yesterday. I've been REALLY enjoying this game. I've also been playing on my Series X and have had no crashes or laggy gameplay

I think some of Mike’s criticisms about the presentation are valid but I also think nostalgia is clouding a lot of what people remember from the last game. If I remember correctly it also had the same repetitive marching band music for all menus.

It absolutely did, but we were annoyed by that for the last 11 years... So they didn't fix it? We remember the fight songs in the menus! Give them back! This isn't complicated.

Overall I’m happy with the game, but I think some of the rough edges are being glossed over since we’ve gone without college football for about 10 yrs
i have the opposite reaction to gameplay. i don't think it's very good. i'm hoping for a patch to clean it up because it's so terrible i can't even play a game

Mike is so real for this one. Not sure why everyone is giving EA a pass on all his criticisms as if they’re doing us a favor by making/selling this game… It’s totally reasonable to expect a higher level of polish from the game.
Not only is it reasonable to expect a higher level of polish but it should be demanded and required from a multi-billion dollar company. There should be no excuses for it.
I'm a day late but I just want to say I think the difference in opinion boils down to Greg being someone who barely dabbles in sports games but awaited the return of College while Mike is a veteran who plays yearly and knows to expect. I think I fall in the middle so I'm interested to give this shot but I think Mike's criticisms, as nitpicky as they seem, will probably start to wear on me too if I even make it past the 10 hour mark.
I also haven't paid attention to any other reviews so I'm not sure what the temperature in the room is on it.
Online Dynasty’s are rad. We’ve got 21 buddies, a lot of whom I haven’t talked to in years, all back in like it’s 2013 again. Didn’t realize how badly we needed Discord back in the day until we used it for scheduling games and group chatting last night

The fact that you can’t create a player or edit a players appearance or ratings in Dynasty is a complete dealbreaker
My only gripe so far with the game is the fact you cant export dynasty draft classes to madden franchise. All you can do is export your road to glory player which i dont really play. Used to love exporting my players into madden and continuing their careers.
It sucks but they can't add real people to Madden that aren't in the player union.

Kinda wish they programmed an option for you to generate random players and names to take over the actual players and program the export draft class option that way. That way people who still want the actual players can play that way and then a separate option to generate random people for all schools to then export. I'm not sure how hard that would be or if that would be something able to be done but to me that sounds like a way to get around the real players issue

There are batches of Xboxes that have hard crashes with Madden and College Football 25. I have two and one crashes few minutes into a game and the other runs flawlessly. It’s odd.
I’ve also had freezing on my Xbox as well, so he’s not just saying random things. Game also runs in 120 Hz on Xbox, which is a bonus. Not sure if it does on PlayStation.

- So far, I don't care for it. The gameplay isn't great, nor good. It's just ok. It reminds me of '13, or the old Gamebreaker.
- I always strictly run the Flexbone / Wishbone, and the handoff exchange is pitiful. I don't know why they changed it up.
- I was in practice mode to try out some plays, and reset the ball back on the 20 yard line. I was also in the All 22 camera setting. When I snap the ball, the screen goes white, because of the stadium pillars "blocking the view". So right away, I immediately picked up some bugs.
- Guess we'll keep playing to get used to some of the unnecessary changes.
They already have the fight song licenses... why not just use those in the menu screens like they did back in the day?

Zero issues on series S or X. No freezes or anything like what was mentioned. Dynasty was down for a bit right at release but now it's all good.
as a guy who was on the football team and the drumline in HS, i love the music in the game 😅
The game is so good. There are bugs and a few annoying design choices but it is so fun.
Sad to hear about Mike's issues. I've had zero since day one. Playing awesome for me. Hopefully that's what most people experience.

This is an awful take. Set your favorite song as your alarm or your ringtone and see how long until it's not your favorite song anymore. Literally any constantly repeating menu music is garbage. They screwed up with that choice. Just give us the fight songs back.

Mike’s criticisms make sense bc look at NBA 2K. Yes there’s a ton of mtx but each game has a curated soundtrack and the presentation is excellent. I do really enjoy CFB 25 but yeah that part is lacking
Im just baffled with Mikes opinions and what is important to him in this game. Like he’s spent the majority of this complaining about ultimate team and music, which is just not important to 90% of people who actually watch this review
I get what he means though. I used to love hearing my school’s fight song in the menus back in the day. Obviously not a dealbreaker but presentation is important, especially in simulation games. How important just depends on the person

I do agree that it’s been frustrating not being able to skip the halftime and post game stuff.
The important thing about a review is to give a genuine perspective on your own thoughts of a game or whatever you’re reviewing. People should be reviewing THEIR experiences with the product. To try and put it into a larger lens of catering to the majority would make a review meaningless and inauthentic

Have no sympathy for people still preordering games, especially sports games, ESPECIALLY EA games, imagine paying $100 to play a game 3 days early for the servers to be wrecked and some people bought a console smh, y’all never goin learn tho just naive and then bamboozled later
2k shit is better then EA sports gold, guarantee u if 2k had the license we would at least get create a player/team, there was a reason why their quiet about team builder and it wasn’t a dynasty deep dive cause they knew it regressed from 14 smh
