I'm super happy to find someone talking more positively about the remake. I'm new to the RE series and only started playing the games that are available on Steam (easiest platform for me to get a hold of) at the beginning of the year. I had a really good time playing this, and it felt so cool to play as Jill again, with my time in RE1R being pretty recent. Coming consecutively from RE2R, I enjoyed seeing the reused assets, like you mentioned in the video. It put into perspective how close Leon/Claire and Jill/Carlos' adventures coincide, possibly by just a few hours difference.
I just beat hardcore after my normal playthrough, and I'll probably be playing it some more to get some of the other rewards before I move onto RE4R.

happy to hear youve been enjoying the series- it’s one of my two favorite games series of all time! if youre ever interested in playing the older games i do recommend them, even if you have to shmemulate them. I forget the exact timeline but it’s RE3 until the hospital, then RE2, then the second half of RE3 (i think, not 100% sure lol) and if youre curious about hearing other people talk positively about 3make it was Noah Gervais’s video that inspired me to replay the game with a more positive attitude

i honestly liked the re3make way more than the re2make, mostly because re3 is way shorter, which makes it way more fun trying to do extra runs for 100% than re2.
plus, extra items that change up the repeated playthroughs are much easier to obtain thanks to the shop, while re2 just feels like the same exact same thing on the second run. I completed both claire and leon A scenarios, and trying to play through leon b for the third playthrough just felt like trudging through neck-high sewer water.
I actually 100% re3, the only parts that really bothered me while playing through the extra difficulties were playing through the entire intro again and again, and the nemesis phase 3 boss fight on inferno. Even then, it only really took about 7 tries and the s.t.a.r.s. manual to beat.
While I do understand how it's not very survival horror, which is what the Resident Evil franchise is going for, i think it still excels as an action shooter game
yeah i agree! playing this game with the mindset that its gonna be action focused really improved my experience replaying 3make
Just finished it last night, it was pretty good, I just wished it was a little longer and nemesis didn’t feel as scary as the tyrant in re2 remake did, like it was just boss fights and scripted
im glad you liked it. i dont mind the game being less scary, but i think it’s fair and valid to want more HORROR out of your survival horror game. whats weird is that re2 tyrant and nemesis got kinda flipped in the remake. in og re2 mr x only appeared at certain rooms on the bplaythru and wouldnt travel from room to room. but og nemesis chased you around room to room throughout most of re3

i understand the love for 3. like i said in the video, if it wasnt for that clocktower boss fight it would probably be my favorite out of the originals. tho 2 definitely has the better post game content imo (re3 mercenaries blows lol)
I beat it 100% in 70 hours...all difficulty...waaaay too easy and short...i liked it but still very disappointed compared to 2 remake and especially 4
i agree it’s too short. the games got good bones, it just needed more meat on them
