Amazing footage, thanks for sharing. I'm sure Botsford got good pictures anyway, would be just interesting if he did because as you said, the screen really is dimmed down a lot.

Huge kudos to the photographers for capturing history.
Sony might sign up even more press agencies going forward because of this.

The biggest issue with the vlogging syle screen is that it takes too long to flip and tilt your camera. He would have 100% missed that shot without the new tilt screen.

@ABarrera interesting and thoughtful commentary, have been talking over this very topic with my daughter (a photojournalist by training). I had passed her two of those shots, and she gave me the other!
Agreed these 3 photographers were the consummate professionals, ready to act in the moment. Their skills, experience, and most of all preparation were the foundation that enabled each of them to act ... in the moment.
I think it's interesting that the two Sony's were actually reversed, in terms of which was ideal - the resolution specialist captured the bullet, and the speed specialist captured what was essentially a dynamic portrait.
While we like to search endlessly for the `ideal camera`, in reality when push comes to shove the camera in your hands (especially mainstream modern) are just so enormously capable that what we are using can get it done, if we can.

Of course, the gear does matter, especially to professional photojournalists.. If the photographer is a beginner, it may not matter.. But, to the experienced professional photographers, it DOES matter..

gear matters for sure : if he would have used a leica SL3 or M 11 , he'd probably not have got these shots!

It's not that important but to make things straight, I have to say that you got it wrong. The POV footage is from Washington Post photographer Jabin Botsford and not from Evan Vucci.
